Oracle Applications DBA Covers 11i and R12 Paperback – August 11, 2008

I purchased this book in 2011 and got an opportunity to put to use in 2016.We inherited an abandoned 11.5.10.2 Ebiz Application which had to be revived to report important finance info out of it.This book contained exactly the right information for me to study an Ebiz Application right from its architecture,filesystem,maintenance,security aspect,Cloning ,Concurrent Processing and Printer Setup.Upgrading was not really required in my env so that chapter was just informational for me.Most of the EBIZ shops have concepts explained in this book.It is easy to read with great screenshots.I will definitely recommend this book to any Ebiz DBA Primer or experienced resource to gain knowledge to manage an EBIZ system.I will request the author to come out with a new book on Weblogic integration in 12i Ebiz .I will also request the author to have a glossary of Env variables and config files that get configured in a complete Ebiz Env.Some backend scripts to retrieve APPS Password ,SYSADMIN Password if lost these kind of scripts at the end of the book can also help.All in All a great book to have to learn EBIZ Suite Administration.It can get you administering the instance immediately.

This is a fairly high-level overview of apps dba responsibilities, I think J.B. knows a lot more than he was able to get accross in this book. The book covers 11i and R12, but sometimes did not clearly state which sections applied to which versions. Lots of screen shots, useful if you have not done any reading about Oracle Apps in a while (which includes me). I'm still looking for a more in-depth R12 book.

Good information on 11i and 12 as it relates to Application DBA role.

Just explain the OEBS architecture and its components. For sure, I don't recommend this book for someone who already have a good understatement about this ERP.

This book gave most, if not all of the information contained in Oracle's Apps DBA training course and it costs way less. So far i have used if for references when i am stuck with some weird error. It's great buy and very easy to follow with all the screen shots.

You can find many things about Oracle E-Business Suite, this book can be your startup guide, i wish author write on EBS 12.2.0 instead of 11i as soon as possible.

I got this book recently. It covers important topics on Oracle Applications. It is a good book for beginners. It covers the topics needed for an oracle applications dba interview.
