Really good product with a little flaw
I use this Profoto RFI and is really cool, also have the previous version and this is much better because incorporate the mechanism to move vertically, also is easy to put one or two speedlights :DPros: Very well constructed, better color (I prefer black over the silver of previous version)Cons: The only reason to bring only four stars is because in the back part appear a light leak and in some cases this cause me problems (as you can see in the picture) however I fix this putting a black fabric to cover it, but Profoto always think in everything and I'm don't know why don't detect this little flaw in the design.

High Quality!
If you want room for growth then buy this newer model. It is $50 more but I believe that the versatility it gives you is worth the added expense.PROS:- all-metal constructions, the only plastic parts are the rollers, the hot shoe bracket screws & the handle to tilt the angle- high-quality build, will probably outlast me if my future grandkids will use it well.- if you have rectangular soft boxes then they can go vertical or horizontal with this speedring by just turning it- the base will tilt, eliminating the need to buy different, flimsy brackets out there- very versatile, gives you different mounting options & distances for different brands of flash like Nikon & Yongnuo- will let you connect 2 speedlights & 2 wireless triggersCONS:- NONE- some have complained about the weight, they're saying it's too heavy but these are probably the same people that will complain if their $175 speedring is too light & say that they didn't get they're money's worth- my opinion on why this kind of tool should be heavy & made of steel/metal instead of lightweight aluminum? because the screws are made of metal & when setting up anything with screws people are bound to rush & not precisely put the screw where they should go. Guess what? Aluminum is soft & with a few mistakes the metal screws will easily chew up the aluminum. What would they say then? That this product is defective?caution:- when removing the hot shoe mounts, be mindful to pull the mount away from the bracket because the threads from the screw can chew on the bracket & start stripping the threads. because the bracket was designed so that you can remove the mounts at any position UNLIKE the screws on camera plates where there's only one spot where you can remove the screw all the way & the other positions are narrower than the width of the threaded part of the screw.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Easily best-in-class
I've used just about every speedlight mounting device out there and this is by far the best.First, the build quality is just insane. I'm tempted to say it's almost a bit overdone. And this could be a potential drawback, especially if you're trying to travel light. It's one serious piece of kit, and consequently isn't very collapsible. The arm holding the flash mount can be loosened by the thumb screw at its base, so you can slide it closer to the speedring mount. But that's about as compact as it goes. So portability can be an issue. But that's the only drawback, if you consider it to be one.The ability to mount two (or more) speedlights is a key advantage here, enabling you to achieve a quality of light roughly equivalent to studio lights.I had planned to buy an adapter for mounting my non-Profoto softboxes to this unit (hint: they make speedring adapters for practically any brand flash modifier you can think of), but in the end I upgraded to the Profoto mods. They're also quite superior to what I had earlier (Calumet, Westcott). In all, my RFi system now consists of three Speedlight Speedrings, two Profoto 1X3' stripboxes and one 2X3' softbox. That's my entire remote rig now, and has worked wonderfully for me. If you add that up, it's a pretty hefty investment but one I know I'll never need to replace.

Doesn't lock and the softbox is skewed!
You can't tell from the product photo, but there is no way to get a soft bot square on the ring. There is no option to rotate the softbox once it is on the ring also. Problem number two is that no matter how tight you make knobs to secure your speedlights, they will always come lose with little to no effort at all. It is a sold build and fun item but these two problems are game changing.

perfect for Profoto A!s
I'm new to the profoto game - with an A1 duo kit. if i want to use any of my old chimera or westcott or impact soft boxes or strip lights or octabanks, this was a great solution for a great price. I can even put 2 A1s onboard through the light modifiers to double my power if need be.

It is better than the other Profoto Speedring they sell/or used to sell.
Two complaints1. The screw handle that you use to lock onto your stand is too small. You can't put enough torque onto it to get it real tight onto your light stand. There needs to be a bigger tip and a better contact point with your stand and not just the screw head.2. I am using the 1x4' diffuser, with this softbox you can only rotate the speedlight heads to get even dispersion when the softbox is at a 90 degree angle. If softbox is setup vertically the speedlights have to shoot into the diffuser and creates a minor hot spotUpdate 07-2016 - changed from 4 to 5 starsI use it with a c-stand now which gives me more flexibility with rotating it around. I have been very happy with this speeding.

In the end, you get what you paid for...
I ordered 2 of these RFi speedlight speedrings and I'm absolutely delighted with them, solidly built equipment. For me having the opportunity to use two speedlights in a Softbox using a single piece of equipment was a top selling point plus having the Profoto name behind it, which in the professional photography community is right at the top of light modifiers... I'll be using them with a 3'x1' and a 3'x4' Profoto RFi softboxes.

Remplit parfaitement sa fonction
Conception et realisation tres robustes, adapté a usage intensif et professionnel. Un peu lourd, necessite un pied ou support solides. Un peu cher pour l'usage
