Makita is best
All my tools are Makita and they are durable and will last. The batteries tend to die out after 3 or 4 years

Very powerful driver
This set came as fantastic upgrade to my 5 y/o drill. The large battery last long time and charges quickly. The battery level is really handy to determine when to charge the battery. The brushless motors run very cool and there's no sparks, also the size of the tools is smaller because of that. These tools are very powerful! The driver especially has only one speed setting and you need to get used to use the trigger to throttle the action. I ended up with several destroyed screws heads and screw bits before I got used to it. I would still not use the driver for soft wood and drywall, because you can accidentally power through the material. For those situations I use the drill and set the proper driver resistance. The drill chuck has a very nice tightening feature and it'll tighten the bit securely with minimum effort. Some people hold the chuck and the pull the trigger to tighten or get the bit lose. One should really avoid to do that with this drill. Firstly because it already has a nice tightening feature, but also because the driver is really powerful and you can get hurt.Overall great quality tool, highly recommended!

Powerful, well-built, easy to handle. Glad I pulled the trigger
I've had this drill set for a couple of weeks now, and I am impressed with the power and speed of the brushless technology. I had been nursing along a couple of old powered drills and an older battery w/brushes drill, and decided to go ahead and upgrade in advance of my latest project. I have discovered that it's not just an upgrade, but a whole new league when it comes to ease of use, battery power, and confidence when working on a project. The variable speed driver is exactly what you'd expect; light, fast, ergonomic, simple to change bits, etc. The impact driver is really a difference maker. I've never owned one before and wasn't sure that I'd see the value that people talk about in blogs/youtube/etc, but I had that wrong. For such a small device, it really packs a punch and drives screws in to wet treated lumber like butter. I am very pleased with this set of drills.

One of the best on the market!!
I've had this power machine for a pretty long time, and still works as new. Battery life very good, lasts long. Has a good weight and size charging is flawless, it's worth it for the money you paid for it. I highly recommend this product.

best drill around
best drill I have owned. this is my 2nd and I could not be happier. MY first Makita was apt 3 yrs old and heavily used when I moved and it was left unused for about 3 yrs. finally I thought I would try charging the batteries and keep it for the basement. to my surprise the batteries still had a charge and I used them for another two years. still using one of the originals. bout two off brands that did not last 2 charging.

Nice set
I purchased the XT281S 18v (3.0ah) to replace my older Makita set. It arrived quickly, no problems at all. This set is brushless, so they are a bit shorter in length than my older set. They work as expected. My older (3ah) batteries work in this set, so I'll have extras if needed. My only regret is that I didn't look close enough at the drill. My old one has a hammer drill setting, which is nice if you have just a few that need to go into concrete. This set doesn't have a hammer drill setting. My fault for not checking. BTW, my older set, probably about 10 years old, is just getting tired now and I have a deck to rebuild. I'm a retired carpenter and I used this set at home quite a bit. Glad to have another one!
