Drill Hole size needed is 1-5/8" for proper fit.
They work well for what their intended use is. One minor problem (in y opinion) is that the slotted lines from center hole to outside flange needs to be enlarged and deepened to move water quicker out of the boat floor. I used a Dremel bit to widen and shallow these grooves to make them more functional.

Worked great on my mini-pontoon boat...easy application and drains fast!

Good for Drain Hole
We used this to create a drain hole in our Pelican Bass Raider 10E. We cut off some of the 'tail' because we didn't need it that long. It is a solid piece, cinches up nice and tight. We use silicone seal to seal and to hold nut from loosening. A standard 1" drain plug works well to open and close the drain hole.
