The best way to do it.
I, too, use one of these in the praise band at church. When they retrofitted the sound system, our church went with Allen & Heath digital, and we gradually phased these in with IEMs. One advantage this mixer has is an ambient "local" omnidirectional mic built in with an adjustable level. When wearing IEMs, this feature allows you to hear the room. Important for me as I'm using a Princeton Reverb on stage and I like a sense of how my level is sitting in the room.

WORTH IT!!
I play in the worship band at my church, and I use one of these. Until I tried this, every week it was "can I get more of this instrument in this monitor in front of me?" I was also struggling to hear myself when I played bass (don't want the amp too loud, because the less stage volume, the better). But with the ME-1 personal monitor mixer, every problem you have hearing yourself or others in the band is GONE! Now I have no need for the sound guy to turn anything up or down! I can get my own mix in my ears!! I love this thing!
