I have a firstgrader and after first marking was over, I realized that homework she brings from school is way too simple. She does week worth of exercises in 20 min. However, the way school guides kids through math learning by providing 1-2 sheets printouts for homework and sort of “fun” coloring based activities simply doesn’t promote consistency and repetition that prepares kids to higher level math problems. I was looking into simple exercises workbook that my kids can do in addition to school homework and these series was perfect choice. This book in my daughter backpack and she does day worth of math problems either on the bus or while in aftercare and then I review at home and go over material when needed.

Got this book to teach my kids the common core math problems, not to teach him math. That is important to understand. He is very good at math because he is also home schooled. But he was taught traditional real math. In school they do these common core problems, which is a strange way to do things. Anyway, so, this book is good for learning how to do the class room problems, but if you want to learn actual traditional math, you'll need another book as well or you'll need to make your own traditional math worksheets.

My daughter loves the math word problems. She is still in kindergarten and some of the math is still a little hard for her. That is why we go over the exercises together and once I explain it to her, she likes solving the problems. I actually like the part that the math problems are challenging and are not too easy. I would recommend this book!

I bought this book as a recommendation online. Something I wouldn’t have to pay for. Unfortunately not true. It says free online help but that help is minimal with the push to “upgrade” for full access. This was definitely disappointing for me as a parent. There are worksheets you can print but don’t seem to go along with what is being taught.My granddaughter does like the book but I was hoping there would be more examples online she could refer to as well and there isn’t.

My daughter is in kindergarten and needs some math practice. This book helps us do that. I tried four math books and this one is the best. It is also the only one she could do. It has a good number of practice questions. One thing that is really good about this book and Argo is that the lessons have video tutorials. When I travel for work I can work the problems with her by Skype or Facetime. This enables us to plan a few precious minutes to interact when I am not home.

This book contained enough errors and poorly worded questions, that I strongly recommend an adult reviews each lesson before allowing a child to attempt its contents.

I must admit it is very well written book with a lot of exercises which are very interesting and attractive for kids. My daughter is in kindergarten right now but we are doing math from higher grades. Perfect addition to book - video explanations and they are absolutely free.

I used this one for my kid and love the content and the flow from easy to harder content. Good amount of practice before moving to the next chapter. I am looking for another 1st grade math practice book and so far this is the best.
