Buying bed of nails #5
I purchased the first one mid 2011, didn't expect much but was desperate to find something that would alleviate chronic pain in my neck and shoulders. Visits to an OD ruled out spine issues, was all related to muscle strain/fatigue from being hunched over a keyboard to long.Got the first pad and WOW! I was hooked from the first use.It takes a couple of tries to figure out how to angle your body to not have the spikes make you think you are on a real bed of nails for a bit as you lay down on it.My way:I put them on the bed, line it up behind me with my hips and drop backwards. If I need more "umph", I put them on the floor. I have to move down slower, kind of roll down on to them. I do this next to the sofa, or between two chairs, so I can brace myself with my hand as I roll backwards.A month or two later I purchased another pad to have more length to work with. As other have said, wish they were wider/longer.I also purchased the "Bed of Nails neck cushion". After a few days of getting used to the pads, knowing when that "ouchie stings feeling" would give way to just---aaaaaahhhhhhhhh----I was falling asleep on the pads, it is THAT relaxing.I stretch out with some calm music in the background, eye shades on and just zone out. I wake up feeling like I spent an hour with a masseuse. One night my husband was fussing about his Restless leg syndrome making him more crazy than usual. I got both pads, put one under each calf and he was sound asleep with 20 minutes. He did wake up when he rolled over because, yeah it hurt like a son-of-gun to drag his legs across the pad. Now when he uses them, I just keep an eye on him and when I know he is about to doze off, I take the pads out from under his legs.I ended up purchasing two more pads because he was hogging mine!I am back for the fifth because my pup got ahold of one of the pads and the spikes didn't slow him down a bit, he'd gnawed three off and ruined the corner of the pad before I figured what he was chewing on as he lay quietly at the foot of the bed.I wear a light weight 100% cotton t-shirt and have a light linen tea towel I put over the neck pillow, so all the pads have stayed clean. I hang them out in the sunshine for a few hours every few weeks to air them out and keep them smelling fresh. My husband doesn't put anything over his pads when he uses them, so he has bare skin contact on the spikes and so far almost six years of use and they are still clean, no odor and grim built up on the.We aren't replacing them because they wore out or got dirty, we are simply buying more.I even think about stock piling these in case this company stops making them!!

Youll never believe until you try
It was on sale almost 1/2 off and I had to try it!1st use I was skeptical that it would do what everyone raves about. I laid on bed (which is softer than hard floor for first time) and fell asleep listening to audiobook) I was asleep by 8 pm when I got off mat I removed it and went back to bed. I woke up with shoulders super relaxed and the muscle in my neck that had been bothering me fir a week was gone. I didnt have the pillow but found a cheap set for 20.00 and getting the pillow. Yes its that good! There are cheaper sets out there do research on the “spikes” some have more or less and some are just roses shapes. It looks like most of them are made by the same company where you just put your branding name on them. So def go cheap u til you know you like it. I will be going to an advanced spikey mat soon I can tell but for now my body really digs this spikey awesome stress relief!CONTRAINDICATIONS: as a bodywork therapist this would not be good for diabetic neuropathy, kidney disease, elderly or thin skin! Do not just gift this to someone theyll hate you unless they asked for it!

Fibromyalgia/Migraines
Folks with fibromyalgia and migraines handle additional "pain" for relief in different ways. Speaking for myself, something about this works for me. I get acupuncture a few times per month and this does not take the place of that more focused and deep approach to pain management. But I absolutely love this for between sessions. When the pain is building, I find that laying on my mat must be hitting some great acupressure points because it does bring the pain down several notches. Anyone with chronic pain knows what a huge relief that can be. It doesn't disappear but minimizes it. I'll move around to press harder into the areas with more pain and it begins to subside a bit. Sweet relief. When you first get it, you may not believe that moving around on it (or being able to deal with spikes in your back) is possible. I almost gave up after the first use. But tried a few more times and my experience with it changed quickly.I recommend starting out on a soft location like a couch or bed. You may find later that you prefer a hard floor. There are lots of ways to adjust the experience to your own comfort level and needs. I absolutely love it and could easily fall asleep while laying on it now.

Simply Amazing
I nervously placed my back on the BED OF NAILS. I easily adapted to the feeling of the BED OF NAILS.I meditated while laying on it for twenty minutes. I could feel the blood pumping in my back. I got up and immediately felt relief from my lower back pain. Back pain and spasms that would prevent my from taking long walks and bending over while doing simple chores. I have tried inversion table, foam roller, large rubber ball and various other back stretching devices. I'm not sure if the bed of nails will work for everyone, but it's definitely worth a try if you're suffering from chronic back pain. It's a safe and effective way to relieve pain and promote relaxation, and it's much cheaper than surgery or other expensive treatments.

Wrong price for this quality
It’s good quality but I bought in Amazon the other one and with the pillow for $19 with exactly same quality.

What a joke
I cant really blame anyone except myself for this purchase. First off, it LOOKS like its full size in the picture, like almost the size of a sleeping bag. But its NOT. It is the size of a pillow. So i paid $80 for this thing. Next, I tried to return it and it states that it is NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN. Maybe i am overlooking it but I cant seem to find ANYTHING anywhere on the whole page that says it cannot be returned. I am beyond pissed right now. So now im stuck with this 80$ p.o.s.Again, MY FAULT.NEVER AGAIN
