DOVO Straight Razor 5/8 Olivewood

I decided to try straight razor shaving earlier this year. I went through the learning curve, first buying something with inferior steel that wouldn't get sharp enough, then trying one of those disposable razor jobs that are impossible to use. I finally caved in and bought this Dovo, one of the real straight razors from one of the last remaining companies that makes them right. This beauty is the real thing. I've been straight razor shaving for a month now. It's fun, my wife tells me it looks great. It's the perfect way to start every morning.One flaw: It's advertised as 'shave ready', but it really needs a good stropping before it's ready to go.

Good razor but definitely far from being sharp out the box. I also noticed the edge was swayed a bit whoever sharpened it last definitely messed up

Dovo makes great razors and the stainless blade is worth the extra money. I love my Inox razor.

Beautiful product. Nice weight to it. Definitely not shave ready. The first shave was brutal. I gave it a good stropping and now it shaves very well. I don’t have anything of high enough quality I’d use to hone this, so I only used the strop.Edit: After reading another review, mine clearly states stainless on the blade. This was advertised as carbon steel. Debating on returning it and will update.

I HIGHLY recommend. This product has a perfect ergonomic design which contours the hand great and provides great manoeuvrability of the straight razor. This is my first straight razor and it cuts very close, is a very sleek and elegant design. I recommend anyone considering the switch to a straight razor, or looking to purchase a new straight razor buy this product.

Not sharp at all. Beautiful blade and hopefully I can get it sharp enough to use soon.

Very nice quality razor. Needs to be honed before used but not many come ready to use. Sharp out of box but to be shave ready find a sharpening company or get 4000/8000 grit honing stones and do some research.

Love my dovo it's perfect! Decided to buy a nicer one after having a cheaper beginners straight razor for a year, and I could not be happier. Came in a nice aluminum case to protect it that lasted me a year through heavy travel. Aside from case razor is flawless. Came shave ready too.
