Sleep Mask Connoisseur
I have been in search of the perfect sleep mask for a couple years ~ purchasing several from the more expensive (Tempurpedic) to the less expensive (Bucky) and several in between. Until this Infinity Sleep Mask arrived, I was mostly using the Bucky, which the velcro strap sits right above my ear and after a few nights, that skin is rubbed sensitive from the strap, not to mention light leaks around both sides of nose. When I opened the Infinity mask, I thought I would be sending it back because it looked too stiff, the straps seemed sewn into the mask too high to hold it in place. After washing my face and trying it on, I was pleasantly surprised and decided I'd keep it. I must say this mask is pretty close to perfect and does the best (out of the many I've bought), of maintaining a total black out!! The straps are higher therefore do not rub the skin at the top of my ears. It basically has two padded cups for your eyes, so you can still open your eyes. It stays in place pretty well and is very comfortable. (Disclaimer: I have an adjustable TempurPedic bed so I sleep on my back, turning my head from side to side). I'm not sure how it would do as side sleeper or stomach sleeper. It's by far the best I've tried and I'll definitely purchase another one. Occasionally it seems hot over my eyes, but then at my age (58) everything seems hot from time to time!!

They changed the design so it is no longer comfortable
I bought my first Dream Essential mask in 2015 and purchased 4 more over the next few years. The price was $29.95 but so worth it. Soft fleecy fabric, deep eye pockets, completely blocked all light so that my partner could have the light on working in bed while I slept. This eye mask was such an important part of my life, and probably the most-used item I owned. It is kind of like a pacifier and I actually wear it around the house on my forehead. My last one was getting frayed so I reordered and was surprised to see that it was now $4.99? My question is WHY change the design? It doesn't fit!! I could not wear the new mask for one minute, much less all night. It pressed onto the bridge of my nose in the most uncomfortable way. Why why why change something that was so perfect? I went on a buying spree on Amazon trying to find anything remotely as comfortable and effective. I finally settled (in desperation) on a silk mask. But silk is the wrong fabric for eyes. If you use eye drops or your eyes water the silk soaks it up and it just coldly sits on your skin. In addition, ALL of the masks either pressed on my eyes or felt slimy or didn't block the light. All of the masks got returned. I will continue to use my frayed old Dream Essentials mask and HOPE that the manufacturer reads the one-star reviews and decides to go back to the $29.95 version. I will keep checking. Cheaper is not always better.

Totally fine for side-sleepers like me
Fleece! Love it. And it is totally fine for side-sleepers who are like me (more on this below). The fleece is great for me because it doesn't irritate my skin. The other masks I've tried have all been made of some sort of nylon-ish type fabric and they have all given me a rash on my cheek under the one eye, for whatever reason. No irritation and no rash with this mask. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY: This is the best sleep mask I've ever used. And I've tried many many. This is the only one in my experience that blocks out ALL light. When I get it into the right position, no light comes in along the bottom (over the bridge of the nose) like you get with the other masks. The sockets are relatively cavernous (which is why the mask can completely block out the light) so there is no pressure on your eyelids, no contact with eyelashes, etc. Lastly, I know some other commenters have said that this mask is not for side-sleepers. Well, I'm a side-sleeper and I've figured out how to make it work. Maybe it depends on the type of pillow you use? Who knows. Personally, I just sort of bunch up the pillow so its narrower and then I place my head so the thickest part of the pillow hits right along my jaw bone. This is very comfortable for me. But I realize everyone is different.

Blocks light completely, but dreadfully uncomfortable
The good news first: This sleep mask (in black, at least) is VERY effective. It blocks every tiny bit of light. The strap that goes around your head is adjustable comfortable, but ... The bad news: The forms (effectively, two cups) around your eyes that are blocking light so effectively are not soft, and they don't leave a lot of room for your actual eyes, so you have to play with the fitting a lot to find a comfortable position in which the mask hasn't slipped off to the side and isn't pressing uncomfortably against your eyes. I'd recommend it if having zero light is the most important thing to you. It's too distracting for light sleepers.

Perfect sleep mask if you sleep on your back ~ Otherwise don't buy it
I purchased this sleep mask as the early morning light is very prominent in our bedroom making it difficult for me to sleep. I also use the mask when I take a short nap in the afternoon. This is by far the most comfortable sleep mask that I've ever owned, however it's only comfortable if you sleep on your back. When sleeping in this position, the mask blocks out 100% of the light and is so soft that you're not even aware that you're wearing it. It's truly wonderful when used in this fashion. The problem arises when you try to use the mask while sleeping on your side. Doing so is a completely different experience, as the somewhat rigid edges of the mask make it uncomfortable when your face is sideways on your pillow. When using it in this fashion, the comfort factor disappears, as the edges can be felt pushing into your face. The best way to remedy this is to push your hand down on the section of pillow that your face will be resting. If you do this, you'll still notice some discomfort, but at least it will be bearable. The bottom line is that this sleep mask is superb for back sleepers, but not recommended for side sleepers. I primarily sleep on my back, but occasionally do so on my side. I've deducted 1 star for this reason, but each person will be different. If you only sleep on your back, this is a 5 star product, however if you only sleep on your side you'll probably not like it at all. Pros: Blocks out 100% of the light. Very soft and comfortable when sleeping on your back. No pressure on your eyes; it's hard to know that you're even wearing it. Velcro fasteners ensure that the mask fits properly. Cons: Uncomfortable when sleeping on your side. Would I buy it again: Yes, but with reservations as it's not comfortable when sleeping on my side.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Sleep as late as you want. This sleep mask is perfect, as far as I can tell. No flaws. Its thick, dense foam padding allows you to strap it as tight as necessary for a perfect fit, so no light EVER leaks in, yet there is only a gentle pressure on your face which is quickly forgotten. Furthermore, the padding provides plenty of space between mask and eyelids / eyelashes, for additional comfort. The Velcro strap is adjustable to fit virtually any adult head. About the only addition I'd make is a nice carrying case for the road, because this mask deserves one and besides, you need a place to put the included earplugs. I wear it every single night and it never wears out (no sign of attrition in 5 years), plus it is completely washable.

If you value comfort while you sleep, this is NOT the mask for you
Having purchased 2 of these masks years ago, they were the best out there. Fantastic quality, kept the pesky light out and were very comfortable. Couldn't wait to purchase 2 more however, these are going back asap. The old tag says "made in Canada" Guess where the new and crappier ones are now made? China of course. The quality has tanked, the velcro is stiff and uncomfortable. The front of the mask is paper thin with a light fabric covering. Overall the whole mask is garbage. Interestingly enough, the company website says they're a "small family owned business in CT, hand making their own products" and charging $19.99 for this sub par mask. Even if these were free, it's not worth it. Purchase a better brand to ensure better sleep.

Best purchase I've ever made for quality sleep!
A friend highly recommended this product and after going through several less expensive, lower quality eye masks I purchased this one. My eyes are sensitive to light especially when sleeping and my husband likes to fall asleep with the TV on which used to prevent me from falling or staying asleep. The fit is amazing! No light gets through and it's super comfortable. I love that I can use it for a power nap and it doesn't mess up my eye makeup. I've washed it several times with my towels and it comes out looking brand new. I plan to purchase several more for gifts! Highly recommend!
