Comfy and spacious
I bought this for my good lady, as a birthday present. Camping was our aim. So impressed was I with the comfort and the capacity that I bought one for myself. Got the man's one. 65 litre. And we've wild camped in the Lake District. Mission accomplished. And we've still got a bit of room left in our packs. Come, join us!

Comfortable bag for coast to coast walk (200 miles)
I bought this bag for my coast to coast walk. It took me 13 days to complete the walk and I carried the bag all the way for 199 days, after 3 days my shoulders were completely used to the bag and it felt like I didn’t have it on. The first couple of days I had shoulder pains from where I had tightly adjusted the bag to my back so it was quite tight on my shoulders, but the pain went away and I never got back pain once during my trip. Everyone had Osprey bags on the coast to coast walk so it must be a good sign to go with Osprey for long walking holidays.

My husband and I went to Europe and the Maldives for our honeymoon. Being that we had many modes of transportation (flights, trains, buses, boats) I needed something that was sturdy and reliable. I was able to get around everywhere very easy and the bag is such quality I had no concerns stuffing it as much as I could with all my belongings. The zippers are super strong and all the compartments were great to help organize your stuff. Definitely loved it and this will be my form of luggage moving forward for domestic and international.

I just received my Osprey Renn 50 backpack. I have not hiked with the pack yet, so this is just my initial impression of the pack. Until I pack it exactly as I would for a hike, I will not know exactly how it will feel on my back. I packed it with a three man tent, a pad, and a Klymit sheet to try it on. I did not find the torso adjustment hard to adjust at all. I changed the adjustment multiple times trying to find which setting worked best for me. I liked the two options for a bottle in the mesh pocket. I could easily remove my 32 oz. Gatorade bottle and put it back in the pocket; especially, using the horizontal opening. Walking inside, and outside in the yard, the bottle stayed in place. On some packs, it is harder for me to get my water bottle and to put it back in a side pocket. The pack did not feel obsessively big on my frame (in a good way). My head did not hit the back of the pack; the width worked well for me without more length. I like the way the pack sits off the back to allow ventilation. The airflow will be greatly appreciated if this pack is used in our high heat and humid summers. The chest strap adjustment is not on a slider. There are three adjustments loops. I have at times struggled to slide some chest strap adjustments to the point of having to remove my pack to use both hands to get the slider to move. The system on the Renn is easy to adjust; though, I sort of missed the fine tuning of the slider (though I don't miss the how hard the slider could be to get to slide). I, at first, did not think the Renn 50 had much internal space, until I realized the compression straps needed to be loosened; then, I found the space I thought should have been there! The load lifters do a good job of adjusting the carrying of the load. The sleeping bag compartment divider can be removed to allow for options for packing. The external sleeping pad straps allow for packing options. The rain cover is a nice feature. It can be untoggled from the inside of the pack to come completely unattached from the pack. I will rate it 5 stars, though it may be more of 4 stars for me right now until I can know for sure how comfortable it is carrying a load for miles. Dialing in a pack is a ever changing thing as the load changes due to water weight and settling of the load over time. As I walked in the yard with the pack on, the slight nuisances of how the pack wore were unnoticed when I began to look at the stars in the night sky and enjoy the stillness of the night. I believe the Renn 50 will be a pack that can meet my needs when I need a pack larger than a daypack.
