Could have been so much better
The demon didn't kill Megan because they both have anxiety and depression... wha? From what I gathered, Hannah got murdered during the exorcism - well - the demon did - and yet came back to life twice... How in the world would that level of demonic strength Allow Hannah to feel empathy towards one person not to mention nobody else in the morgue? NO. Also, I watch demonic possession movies to be thoroughly freaked out by the demon mainly and that part of it pretty much ruined it for me.I did feel for Megan's character but this was more of a psychological film than horror in a way. The same idea was used in the Evil Dead Remake only it was H, and I would watch that over this-- guess this is a double review - the remake was not as good as the original evil dead films but you get my point.. this movie dragged that part of it out a bit too much I feel, with not enough of a focus on the actual possessed character. It was unique but I wouldn't watch it again.

Rented this as research for another purchase
I love horror movies. Campy, serious, intense, funny, don't care, love them. Posession movies are my specialty. I guess being raised as a Catholic all those years ago have something to do with it. It touches a raw nerve in me somewhere. The primary reason I rented this movie however, was because as I was researching buying a new camera (Sony a6600), I had read an article where the production for this movie decided to do something different. Rather than shoot the movie on the typical Arri/RED or even Cannon C series digital cinematography cameras, they shot the whole movie using Sony a7iii cameras. I was intrigued to see how close it came to replicating big budget movies with a sensor that was more or less the same as the one I was looking at buying.Needless to say, I was not disappointed. I work in the movie industry and I can look at color grades, edits and composites and pick movies apart (and I often do). I could certainly do that here as well. But the fact that they show it with a prosumer camera (albeit with million dollar glass) and framed the shots to play to the camera's strengths, I felt this movie held up extremely well against anything put out on those other cameras. So if your a cinematography student looking for a case study in how to maximize your production value on a budget. This is a great example.BTW... the movie wasn't bad either. It took a little time to ramp up but by the end, it's intense and a good movie if you like horror flicks.

Started off ho hum
But developed into an interesting take on a possession. Really haunting visuals and great sense of dread. Worth the watch if you can forgive the hokey beginning

Worth watching, but falls short of greatness
I love a good demonic possession story and the trailer for this film caught my attention right away. Upon watching the film itself, I have to say that, while it's worth watching and does have a couple great moments, it fell a bit short of what it could have been.Let's start with what it gets right. The acting is quite strong, the setting (if a bit implausible) is creepy enough, and it has a premise that promises some excellent scares. The main character is likable enough and, though she's the only character ever really developed, is able (for the most part) to carry the emotional weight of the movie. The problem is, the scares just never really seem to work for me. I spent a good long time thinking about it and trying to figure out why it didn't quite work and I'm honestly not sure what the problem is, but I do have two ideas. First, I feel like the pacing is a bit off. There's no gradual build of tension. Second, and on a related note, I think the audience knows too much too early in the story. Horror often works best when the evil is unknown. In this case, the audience knows pretty much everything right from the start, and though there are a couple tiny surprises here and there, the audience never really gets that sense of the terrifying unknown. The result, ultimately, is a movie that's worth watching, but feels like it could have been so much greater had the script been given another edit prior to production.

Scary… AF
So I’m a horror movie buff… and I really can’t get into B rated horror for the most part… But I really appreciate this one. It scared the crap out of me.It’s similar to The Autopsy of Jane Doe in some ways. It really kept me tense the whole movie… Just waiting for an unexpected scare.Loved it!

Fun.
Okay, so to me this wasn't scary. It was a fun ride though. I enjoyed the main character and the security guards. Thought they brought an element of realism since I used to be a security guard for grave shift. The time line of the story really doesn't make sense to me. They mention she was being hacked by "some guy". Which her wounds were enough or likely enough to make sense for that. Like if he was trying to chop her up into pieces, which I assumed why did he look like she skinned her underwear line? Idk. Anyways. I also think the three months ago thing didn't make much sense. I just don't understand the timeline before the hospital. I think a lot of logic was skipped on it. Like what happened to the fathers, why is it okay someone dies in an exorcism without someone being punished??? Like the BELIEF: THE POSSESSION OF JANET MOSES. A Real-life exorcism involving death had consequences. Here though it felt like an "Uh oh, oh well." To the deaths in the beginning of the movie. It was fun without thinking. Some scenes were fun to watch like the bathroom scene. It was suspenseful but also had me laughing about why this woman wouldn't be quickly wiping her butt to gtfo out of there. But I digress. I had a good time, no alcoholic drink required.

Worth watching!
Never has a possession movie ever equal "The Exorcist", the bar was set very high,a few movies have been very interesting (Conjuring, Grudge, Insidious)and others but I watchedThe possession of Hannah Grace several times and really found it to be riveting, no haunted houses,no ghosts, just this ugly corpse that just wont stay dead in a morgue and makes a female coroner very troubled;it's very unsettling, horror scenes that haven't been exploited in such a way that it makes you want to watch it again, I love when a movie is original, well acted (Shay Mitchell) is terrific and so is the corpse, I recommended it, it's fun and scary!

bien flippant !

One Star for Effort.
They tried, but ultimately failed. It has nothing in it that hasn't been done before and better.I suggest "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" and "Nightwatch"(Ewan McGregor version). Both superior in ever way.
