WEN Drill Press Vise, 4-Inch (DPA424)

I purchased this to go on my Wen 10" drill press model 4212. The holes in the vise line up perfectly on the drill press. But I imagine this vise would work well on most drill presses give the elongated mounting holes.Heavy duty for such a small vise. Turn screw move smoothly. Good purchase.

This is a well made vise, just doesn't fit an 8 inch drill press. An 8 inch uses a DPA423 3 inch vise.

Overall, this vise is decent and does hold the work when properly mounted on your drill press. On a smaller drill press you will have to mount it at 45 degrees to use it properly, but that really doesn’t matter if your drilling round holes and it actually makes it slightly easier to use once you get used to it.The only real problem with this vise is the handle. It feels cheap, is kinda wonky and is far from a pleasure to operate. I will be modifying mine to make it more efficient and comfortable.

Works as described

Amazingly heavy, as many have noted. I got 1/2 inch Carriage bolts, 1 1/2 inches long, shown in the picture. The square part fits nicely into the slots, just need washer and nut for underneath. On my WEN drill press, 1 inch would have been long enough. Of all the solutions I’ve seen I like this one the best.

measure everything twice before ordering ,,the vise works good but I had to make adapters to hold it in place,the slots and holes on the drill tables are all different.

I bought the WEN 4214 drill press a month ago, and decided then, that even tho I have used a drill press for years, I wasn't going to get careless, and get injured trying to drill metal, by just holding it with my bare hands. I now lock all metal parts into this vice, which is bolted to the drill table. The only thing I have to complain about is the WEN drill press table doesn't line up well, with the mounting points on the vice... They're both WEN so... WTF..?
