Sizing is larger than what you measure
So I measured my waist and my hips with a tape measure. Waist: 44 Hips: 42. I normally wear Levi's (36x30) at my hips, so I ordered size 42. They arrived in size 42, which was correct. But when I put them on at the hips, they are way too large, like, I can fit a softball between my body and the shorts' waistband. When I pull them up to my waist, they are just a bit loose. SO, my figuring is that they are sized a bit more than 2 inches larger than reality. I'll send them back and get a size 40 to see what happens. I'll review those as well so you can see my results. I'll also not be ordering relaxed fit 11" inseam instead of loose fit 13" inseam. These loose fit 13" inseam feel/look like I'm wearing my mother's culottes, as they end 3 or 4 inches below my knees! Nothing wrong with that--just not my tempo...EDIT: I actually tried different sizes on at a big box store; I found that 38 waist relaxed fit 13" inseam fits best. Just a little bit of extra wiggle room. Again, I measure 42" at my hips, and the size 38 sits on my hips just right.Otherwise, Dickies make fantastic affordable shorts and pants! Tough as nails, and comfortable (once you figure out your size). I'm fairly rough with them; skateboarding serves as my quality test, and Dickies last forever. I'm having to figure out my size because I'm buying my first new ones ever; I've always just bought them at thrift stores before, so I never really knew what I was getting, just looking for the Dickies tag and trying different ones on until I found the ones that fit.

Good quality
These shorts are nice, that good quality you expect from the Dickies brand. Durable material for work or play. They are baggie but fit true to size. The thing about the Dickies waist band is that they don't have any give to them, (as in they won't stretch). The waist band is double thick and made from durable, no-stretch material. This can be good if you don't want to sag. The people saying theyre too tight don't understand that or probably aren't used to the stiff material Dickies uses. This is true across all the WORK Dickies line so you need to size accordingly. The genuine dickies have a little more give and I actually prefer them MORE than the original Dickies line. Also these shorts have the hook and loop buckle instead of a button. Genuine dickies uses a button, which again, I prefer over the original Dickies line. Unfortunately I cant find any Genuine Dickies products anymore so I bought these. With that said I do like these shorts and they are well made. The Fit is good and just what I wanted for work. These pair perfectly with Converse for that cool, gangster, punk, skater appeal I love. Been wearing Dickies all my life. Definitely a staple in my wardrobe. Long Live Dickies!!!

Really long shorts
These were far longer and roomier than I anticipated but that is a good thing. They sit on my hips as my other shorts so they are way past my knees. i read the reviews about ordering a size up and that was good advice. They are built tough unlike the material used in other shorts. Dickies rocks!!

Even if you order your size they may not fit.
Shorts are nice, but, the sizes don't fit everyone that where this size, even though I bought the size that I wear.

Great shorts
These shorts are great. Very comfortable and durable. I wear a size 36 in Levi’s and I know that Dickies run small so I ordered a size 40. I wasn’t sure if I had made the right choice to go up two sizes, but the shorts fit perfectly. I’m 6’4, 235 lbs.

Tight waist
Waist was too tight. Get a size or two higher and wear a belt to take up any slack.

Definitely runs small in the waist
Product seems well made but runs quite a bit smaller in the waist compared to other shorts/pants I own. I’m not thick or chunky, I’m a fat boy. Other size 60 pants/shorts I have are too big and fall off without a belt. Don’t own other “Dickies” brand tho. These are much smaller around the waste. Prob a good 4-6” from even being able to fasten them.
