Machine wash separately in cold or warm water. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach. Allow to air dry completely after each use. Do not share with others to prevent cross-contamination. Please soak the product in hot water for 15 minutes before use.

It didn't come apart, per se. But, it did release small plastic threads along the edge, which isn't ideal for our ecosystem and water reclamation processes. Given this, I wouldn't recommend cutting these to a smaller size. I do regret cutting my cloth in half for this reason, and I disposed of it to prevent further release of those small threads while showering. An aside, I found that I actually LOVE the long length now that I've used it that way.
