Little crunchy but works well
It's obviously a cheaper rougher chuck, but it's perfect for my little hobby lathe at home. The scroll isn't smooth but it seems to clamp well and pretty repeatedly. Still pretty new so I don't know about longevity.

Good chuck!
I don’t think you can beat this for the money. It works great for the welding positioner I built. If you are machining medical devices, this probably isn’t for you.

Mini laythe chuck.
Excellent replacement part.

Wrong fit.
Had to send it back bc it was a hair off on the measurements. Wouldn't slide into my lathe like it suppose to.

Quality as expected for the price.
The jaws move roughly but for my hobby lathe, (old Southbend 9 C) works well. This is not a high precision tool, but expected for the low price. Used primarily to repair or replace parts to patch old machinery. Note, the purchase of a backplate and the machining to mate it to your lathe will be needed.

10" Chuck. Not bad at all..
For the price, I thought I would give it a shot. I needed a lathe chuck in a pinch for some prototyping and reworking some steel parts for a customer.Make sure you take the jaws off completely and debur them. Lots of sharp edges that weren't deburred from the factory.I machined a plate for bolting the chuck to the mill table. I did get a -.005 deviation on one of the jaws. I had to use a shim to keep the parts flat. I will machine the jaws at a later time.I'll be using this for various sized round parts from the customers and for my prototype parts. This will keep me from having to machine custom soft jaws for the 6" kurt vises. One flaw is the gear smoothness. None at all. It's very clunky when opening and closing the jaws. Lile as if it was full of chips in the gear meshings. Hopefully overtime, it will loosen up.I will purchase another once I get another machine in the shop. Can't beat anything for this price!

That it runs true
After taking it apart and cleaning and removing the sharp edges it looks fine had to make a backing plate from a blank to fit my south bend 9A it runs within a few thousand of an inch.
