I inserted a 2TB SSD, connected it to a mini PC with USB3 and shared the drive on my network. I and am using it along with Plex and an antenna to record/store older TV series such as Alfred Hitchcock, Twilight Zone, A Team, Stargate SG-1, etc. Due to the transfer speed, it works great with almost no lag time allowing me to stream perfectly anywhere in the world.Please note: this is a case without any storage. I purchased the 2TB SSD for under $100. It inserts easily. Once put together, you will need to right click on the windows Start button and open the disk management app. I would suggest you search for a Youtube video that walks you through how to format a new SSD drive.

Well-made, product, does the job exactly as needed. Can be used for multiple different sized SSDs. Used it to extract the information from the SSD of a dead laptop. Now I can reuse that SSD in the UGreen holder as an extra external drive in a different computer. Comes with two cables, one C to C and the other C to A so it will work with most all computers and it should withstand be jostled around as it comes with an internal shock absorbing pad and an external case cover that absorbs shock as well. What more could you want at a very reasonable price?

Had an old laptop that stopped turning on; tried different chargers, replaced the battery, tried known working RAM from another laptop ... nothing worked. So I grabbed one of these UGreen SSD readers and transferred all the data/files from the old laptop to my desktop PC! It was very easy, my desktop recognized the SSD reader's USB connection just like it would recognize a regular thumb drive, and the locking mechanism for the m.2 SSD adjusts to fit all sizes of NMVe/m.2 ssd's! It comes with a little thermal pad for dissipating heat if used for long periods of time, and is slim enough to fit in your pocket. It's durable and also comes with a rubber sleeve for extra protection. 10/10, definitely good to have one of these on hand!~ B.Mo ^◡^

Bang for your buck! Everything is great about it the only thing that I find has its pros and its cons is the way the Nvme ssd is secured. It’s a rubber latch that you pull in and out I feel like it will wear over time . Other than that it works flawlessly it’s tool less and easy to use I highly recommend it . And from my experience ugreen is a really decent brand not super high end but very durable and good quality and the warranty is really good.

I bought 2 units and have 1 ssd permanently mounted to my rog ally handheld pc and another that I sometimes use with my MacBook Air. Speeds seem fine but I haven't actually run any tests. The enclosure is nicely designed and materials and fit and finish are great. I appreciate the rubber/silicone case but it's kind of a pain installing and removing it. I don't plan on swapping ssd so it doesn't matter to me but might be a pain if you plan on swapping the installed ssd frequently

I used this enclosure to clone an OEM SSD to a replacement for a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 12. I installed the new drive into the enclosure (Samsung 2 TB SSD) and cloned the existing drive using Samsung Magician software. I then physically replaced the existing SSD (512 GB) with the new one.The system came up as if nothing had changed, except for the acres of space on the new drive. I used the enclosure to wipe the old drive and am now using it as an auxiliary drive. Works very well.
