No - the distance between the slide clips is only 5.08 cm. you can take the clips off but the elevated base is the 5.08 cm measurement.

Can you attach a camera?

I don't see a way to attach a camera. It is a basic stereo microscope that works well at a desk or in the field.

Can we use it to see protozoa / live cultures effectively?
