Will the battery on my chainsaw work with other Cat 60V Outdoor Power Equipment products?

The battery used with the chainsaw is compatible with all products that are part of the Cat 60V Outdoor Power Equipment platform.

What type of oil can I use in the reservoir to lubricate the bar and chain?

Any typical bar and chain oil will provide sufficient lubrication. In sensitive areas, such as orchards or vineyards, canola oil may be substituted for standard bar oil. Do not use “used” motor oil.

Why is my chainsaw cutting much slower than usual?

The saw may have touched the ground while cutting. Chains will dull rapidly after contacting soil. Have chain sharpened or replaced and avoid contact with the ground during operation. IMPORTANT: Always remove battery and wear gloves before changing.

Why won’t the chain stay properly tensioned for an extended period after using the tool-free tensioner?

The position of the bar nose has a large effect on proper chain tensioning and may need to be adjusted. IMPORTANT: Remove the battery from the saw for safe chain tensioning.
