Oh its nice to have separate ssid on my mesh network
Not sure why everyone says the speeds are slow, makes me wonder if they have checked thier modem and it's abilities. Personally I know thats where my limiting factor is since I run a nighthawk cm1200 which caps each lan port to a gig. All that said I've ran multiple tests and im happy with the results. Set up was slightly annoying but may have been because I didnt have the router main and node close enough initially. All and all very happy and looks like its time for a new modem to utilize this set up properly.

Just what I needed
I've mentioned this before. I'm an old network guy of 30 years that's kind of retired now. I was running two networks at the house, one for the house and family and one for my office which I just deprecated, installing MoCA for back haul replacing my Office network. In the house I am running the Asus BQ16 Pro and have been for over a year. One problem in the beginning but it has been rock solid ever since. In my office I am running the Asus BE98U, a beast unit that's been running for over a year with no issues. My office 98U is now part of the overall network mesh but I had a particular use case where both the 98U and BQ16 were a waste and overkill enter the BT6. I received it yesterday, paired it with the mesh and was up in 10 minutes. Great little unit that fits the requirement I had very nicely. Good wireless coverage and worked as advertised out of the box. I have run equipment from TP-Link, Orbi, Linksys and now Asus. The mesh of different routers works flawlessly and being a network person the customization options are fantastic for me. Very happy with the purchase.

Not Stable at all
Purchased a set of two to upgrade an old Wi-Fi 5 router. The ASUS app and web interface settings are top notch and allow for good flexibility and customization like DNS and manual channel selection. That is where any positives end. These things CONSTANTLY disconnect clients randomly. Cannot understate how frustrating it is to be online with a device and get hourly random “network connection has dropped” errors while loading something. If lucky to not get an error, pages will often stay stuck loading partially or take 30+ seconds to load. Turning off MLO, DFS, all of the AIProtection features does not improve stability. The firmware and software implementation is just poor at this point.ASUS has only released two firmware updates in several months for this model and stability has not improved at all. These are not ready for prime time. Recommend to avoid.

Very good router. Easy to set up and great power. Just needs a second 2.5 port.
First purchase for my ZenWifi mesh. I had an older Asus router that had Aimesh capabilities and I bought this to increase my coverage. It has only one 2.5 WAN/LAN port and I could not connect it by Ethernet to my older router which has a 2.5 WAN port. I really wanted to take advantage of a 2.5 Ethernet backhaul. So I purchased the BT8 to use as the main, and connected the two and I couldn’t be happier. Easy to set up. No dropped signals and covered a lot of my house when it was the main router. As the node, it easily connects with my phone and laptops where it now resides on the top floor. 6Ghz fast! I recommend this as a standalone, but if you wish to have a 2.5 or 10 Ethernet backhaul this will not be the model you want. As a node, this works very well. Minus one star for the lack of a second 2.5 port. You may save a little money by purchasing a BT6 and BT8 instead of a pair of BT8’s. As the combo works great for me.

Cannot beat Asus routers. They are the best.
Asus makes grate products. I ended up not needing it so I sent it back unused and I was credited rather quickly.

Can be set up to function as two nodes to existing router
These wifi mesh nodes are working perfectly. I purchased the set to use as two nodes for an existing router. The instructions provided only define setting up as a parent router with the second unit working as a child node. However, this set can also be used to provide two nodes two an existing router using the ASUS router app.

Way too slow and parental controls don’t work
I love the app interface. It is so much simpler to use than our previous router. Too bad the parental controls won’t work! I have tried multiple times to turn on the “Family” option both on a device individually and by setting up a profile and adding each device to a profile, but neither worked. Also, the speed for download is terrible. It frequently takes 30+ seconds to load a single page, often timing out. We had to switch back to our old router and the same page takes seconds. I’ve tried following Asia’s YouTube videos on improving speed with no success. I would not recommend these.

Wonderful
Purchased a 3 pack for a 2500 sf 2 story house. Coverage is great. No dropping at all. My printer wouldn't connect to the wifi 7 but the Asus router created a separate wifi 6 SSID it can use and it prints from all household devices. No other issues.
