great game for the family
I was given this as a christmas pressie by my wife who didn't think I would bother that much with it but I think it's brilliant !! I actually make time to play the game almost each day to get my wee fix !! I can see why serious gamers poo poo it but really if you have a young-ish family they will have great fun.my daughter (12 yrs old) and I play it and I play battle for glory which is one of the manager type games and you can buy players from all over the world for your team. if your team is further down the leagues you wont be able to buy messi straight away you will need to improve your teams rating first.but the transfer windows and all round manager experience are brilliant although I am new to this gamer lark. if you have a young family and want to get a footie game that is quite easy to get the hang of, with differing levels of difficulty, and one you can play with all the family go with this one.

Multiplayer? Yes! Single player? No
Nowhere near as good as fifas of old on other consoles. A different take mind you on controls etc and can imagine multiplayer being very fun. Shooting is achieved by shaking the control (pretty cool). As a game to play yourself I wouldn't reccomend.

Great arcade fun, but not for serious players
Was concerned about purchasing FIFA 10 over Pro Evolution, but glad I did. I don't have the patience to work out all the different moves. Anyone can easily play FIFA, shoot, save, attack, defend, etc. Has allowed all age groups to play the game. My Daughter has played a football game for the first time.I guess it's not everyones cup of tea, but for me and I guess many others, FIFA is an easier and better alternative to Pro Evolution.

oh dear oh dear...
Please please please don't read the Amazon product description and believe it. They've simply transposed the same text from ther XBox and PS3 pages. This game is nothing like that described. This is my first Fifa game - always been a PES player before this - and got seduced into thinking this was a step on. It's not. It's several giant moon leaps backwards.First of all, this is NOT a football sim, it's an arcade-like novelty game. The flow of play is poor. After two games I managed to win a 4 minute match 7-4 which highlights how easy it is too score and how poor the 'keeping is. The momentum bar and super slow-mo when you shoot are frustrating to say the least and there's no way to turn them off. Which leads to the gaming options - yes there're various controller options here, but very little to control the length of a game and the conditions. There are other issues already highlighted in other reviews so I won't repeat them, merely add my agreement to them all.I'm very sure I'll keep playing this game to give it a wee bit more of a chance, but as soon as PES10 is released, this is being traded in.EDITED TO ADD: After a wee bit more playing I've realised this is a decent (not great) arcade game. Some nice novelties and trick moves which would work well for a drunken night in with the lads, but it's not the football simulation game you'd expect (or want) from FIFA, and it's not something I want to invest time in developing a team and my skills within the game.

It is what it is
Im not a huge gamer, and do not have the Xbox etc of this world. I got the Wii for me and my son to play who is now 5. We play a range of games, Mario Kart to Tiger Woods 10.For what we want it for it is perfect. He can play with the intuitive controls and Ill play with the nunchuck, which normally leads to good games.Yes, it has it problems. Tackling leads to fowls if from behind, free kicks are too easy to score etc etc. But, we have a great time, so what I bought it for ticks all the boxes.

Woefully disappointing
Firstly the Amazon product description is wrong..it doesn't relate to the wii version of FIFA 2010. So make sure you read the reviews! The game itself..it's fun but only for a while. It's designed as an arcade style game and therefore has lots of novel ideas implemented (slow motion, pre-match targets, shaking the remote on corners and freekicks). These are unique and smile raising at first, but after a while these become tiresome and it reveals a poor and frustrating game behind all the gimmicks.Shaking the remote to take corners/freekicks - there is no real skill to this and it feels like you have no control over how you want to take the kick. Same goes for corners.Slow motion - Stylish and quite nice at first but 'everytime' you strike it does this, and it's just tiring after a while.Bonus cards before games - Now this is one idea i did quite like. Before a match begins you have to pick one of three targets. This could be during the match you will aim to have no fouls, a clean sheet or let in no more than 1 goal. Or perhaps it'll be at least 10 shots on goal, a 1 goal win or a 2 goal win. If you achieve this you get points, collect so many points and you get a team bonus. What annoyed me the most though was that I started the game, started a league and began to play. After 10 or so matches i was winning very easily and thought i'd change it to a harder gameplay setting. But no can do. You have to start a new league to do that!?! Also you HAVE to play 2 min half games, why!!It just such a frustrating game, I even found that the move from the easy setting to intermediate was a huge jump. There seemed to be very little understanding of what you do to play the game other than to keep on shooting at goal in the vain attempt something will go in or you'll get a freekick/corner through which your random wii remote shaking can get you a goal.Just not very good, fun for a while and I would say it'd be great for younger kids who will enjoy the novelty aspects of the game a lot more.On the whole very disappointing.

Great game
After reading many reviews on various sites I was wary of FIFA 10 but it has been a perfect game for my 5 year old. This is my second copy purchased for a 9 year old and they both love it. You can have it on advanced or basic settings so you only need use the remote, press A to pass and shake. Perfect for the younger child (although I struggle!)
