It's good, but I was hoping for something a tiny bit better..
Having previously had a couple of Evoke Flows I perhaps had quite high expectations. This unit is good though, not as heavy/sturdy feeling as the flow, but not flimsy or cheap feeling or looking either.I actually prefer having real buttons and the colour screen is clear, bright and easy to use.The remote works well too.The sound is also clear and bright, unless you like it loud, the sound quality suffers a bit if you turn it up. But at 'comfortable' listening volumes it's good.It has quite a few presets for each source, so getting quickly to your favourites is easy.Set up was simple and it is intuitive to use. I've had no issues with Wifi which puts it streets ahead of a couple of my other devices. As well as DAB and internet radio, I also listen to audio books and comedy shows via a DLNA sever (streaming from PC/NAS etc) which this handles well.It picks up DAB stations as well as the best radios in the house and better than the others.I don't pay for Spotify, so can't comment on that - Apple play (or whatever their equivalent to Spotify is called) might have been a nice option as my kids have that and had to use Bluetooth instead - which was okay after a few issues connecting. It would have been nice if it had had a speaker out instead of / as well as a line out. Having had a couple of 'flows' I have a couple of matching speakers that would have made this stereo instead of mono. One slight snag has been the speed at which text in the selection menus scrolls. Too slow. If you imagine a directory full of shows where the show title and series number fill the width of the screen plus about 30% - by the time the device has very slowly scrolled past that text to almost where the episode number or title are, the radio has decided I'm not interested any more and gives up. That said you must get over 20 characters before any scrolling is required, so maybe it's less of an issue most of the time. The 'letter entry' method - spinning the volume dial to scroll through the characters and pressing to select - needed for searching for internet radio stations is a bit cumbersome, but not as slow as I'd first imagined. Not sure how to improve it without a lot more buttons or multi-level selection though. Unless the ability to plug in a USB keyboard was easy to do....I would buy again, recommend to others and in fact on the back of this purchase, also bought the IR3 for another room (like this but no DAB/FM or Bluetooth and definitely cheeper looking) as the internet radio and streaming functions were so well handled by this unit.

Great internet radio
After wasting my money on a different make of internet radio which simply didn't work (which Amazon took straight back and refunded) I decided to try this Pure Evoke F3 radio, as I had owned a Pure DAB radio before and was pleased with it. Needing this unit for the bedroom, I wanted stable internet radio, good DAB reception, sleep timer, ability to play my iPod through an aux. socket, and decent sound, particularly at low volumes. This unit delivers on all of these. I haven't yet used the remote, as all features are easily accessible through the unit buttons. Once I found my way around the menus, it is easy to use. If I had a gripe it would be the rather small clock display when on standby, but that is a very minor point. I struggled initially setting favourites on the preset, but once I found out how to do it it is a very easy. I don't know how the unit will fare in time, but with Pure's 3 year guarantee they must be confident of a decent product (most Pure products seem to be of a high quality). Great sound from such a small unit, I haven't touched the graphic equalizer as the factory settings are fine. Would certainly recommend, and will probably stick with Pure for any future purchases.

The radio looks better in person
First of all Nottingham HiFi dispatched the Pure Evoke F3 in a matter of hours which I am very grateful and I have never had a product delivered so quickly. The radio looks better in person, sounds great and is also loud! I'm no radio buff but I am very very pleased with this radio. Works excellently and I would definitely purchase from Pure again for their prices seem very reasonable.Ideally it would have a CD player but I'm not grumbling one bit. The one thing actually missing for me is a more extensive Spotify function - it plays your Spotify music perfectly (for Premium customers only! - I presume however it's for rights and licensing that it can't transmit Spotify adverts but I could be wrong). But the point I am trying to make is that it would be nice to navigate your Spotify playlists and search music with the Pure remote controls - again it's not a major drawback at all because the quality shines through. I am a big fan of Spotify and have had an account getting on for 10 years, I remember when there was hardly any music and no adverts. So I know what Spotify and Pure are capable of creating and would like to see these user-friendly features on other Pure products.I haven't even tried to play all the internet radio and podcast functions yet but so far they work perfectly fine. The alarms are easy to set like the other setting which makes the Pure Evoke F3 a pleasure to use.Easy product to use and set up, great quality, brilliant sound and I can't leave it alone. Perfect for kitchen, Living room, bedroom, moving from one room to another and outdoors - providing there are power sockets.4 very well earned gold stars!!!!Thanks Pure and thank you Nottingham HiFi for making this product even better. Happy listening!
