This is such a great pen. It's easy to fill if you follow the instructions (I found them on the web before purchasing, to make sure I could use the pen without too much fuss, and it's no more complicated than a normal fill from a bottle). The pen is very light in the hand, but broad enough to be comfortable. I chose a fine nib; it produces a very narrow line, variable enough for you to know you're using a fountain pen and not a biro, but with no jumps or scratchiness. The pen was in perfect shape, and comes with instructions for "priming" before use.Highly recommended.

Terrible. Should Have Left It in the Store
Major trouble with ink flow. Tossed it in the garbage.

Great pen - Good price - Good value.
This pen is very rare find for 50$. Pen arrived fast and in good condition. Not in original box, but the pen is new as far as I can tell. No scratches, dents or cracks. I don't give it 5 stars because I had to do some fine tuning and wash several times, one time with dish soap to got it writing without skipping. Fortunately I have a pen tuning kit I bought on the internet so I knew how to do this procedure. I would not recommend if you are new to fountain pens.

When pens were pens...
Folks, this is a nice pen. I have a few fountain pens that I use all day at work, and this pen is a treat. I've recently converted my others from cartridge to filler, so I decided to buy one that was built that way from the start. The Imperial II has a beautiful shape, seamless from end to end, with a nib that wrote smoothly right out of the box. Teri at Peyton Street Pens shipped very quickly, and even included a copy of the original refilling instructions. I'm quite pleased.

What a find!
Classic nib, the special "Touchdown" filling system - and the distinctive Sheaffer shape and heft. For me, these pens are ideal because the section - the part one grips - is smooth all the way to the nib. I'm left-handed, and, although I hold the pen in the usual way, the smooth section of most Sheaffer models is much more comfortable for me. These pens are no longer made, so these "new", never-used writing instruments are a special treat.

Beware. Some disappointments can be delivered for free together with a Sheaffer to those who knows a quality fountain pen
After a time passed since I bought it my opinion changed to the better - My advice to you - before filling with ink wash it with a soapy warm water several times for better perfection ...But anyway - it's too light and overpriced as much as twice.I have just grabbed it from a postal box and able to try in comparison with different fountain pens from my 15 pens collection.First impression - It is too light for me to feel that money I paid. Probably built for people with no power in fingers...It was found a tiny crack(looks more like a curved deep scratch left by inaccurate packager) on the surface exactly where the pen contacts with a cap when is closed - a sign of low quality plastic.Works perfectly well and writes very smoothly and exactly what I am trying to write. But wait, what I see on the paper is not Fine Nib job - this should be called M or even ... o boy!, anything but not F (I used high quality Parker ink). For that money they want us to pay for this Sheaffer, I think the nib must be platinum or solid gold.At least I can say now - I have a Sheaffer fountain pen in my collection. No more of it I will wish. Thank you. Period.Do not recommend for every day job. What I enjoy to use every day is Chinese fountain pen namedBAOER 100 NOBLE BLACK HOODED FINE NIB FOUNTAIN PEN which costed to me 6 dollars - really F nib, heavy enough to fill that something is still in my fingers and looks like a glass but not cheap plastic like Sheaffer. By the way. The Parker for 10 dollars makes job even better. This pen from Sheaffer works exactly like Japanese ZEBRA V-301 - but Japanese costs much less and plastic is much stronger. EXACTLY! Sheaffer is an American ZEBRA.... How good I am.Resume - I am deeply upset. It was my first and personal impression on American masterpiece. Sorry for making anybody of you to feel some pain in fingers or somewhere else. Life is life. Everybody makes mistakes... In other words, we never regret what we never know about. For now I know better this poor brand.P.S. So sad, it's still working like perfectly M nib .....Yes. Ronnie Barker was right - "Nobody got rich by wasting money!" My advice - buy AK (Russian weapon) - it works better, never cracks and the more you shoot the more you are happy.
