What kind of amazing tricks does it do?

Amazing tricks? Well I guess that depends on the child that's playing with it! My 3 year old grandson makes it have a "bad wreck" sometimes. He also "drifts" on it. I suppose the "amazing tricks" can go as far as your child's imagination!

Would this work on a carpet?

Yes, but it won't roll as easily as on a vinyl floor or outside. Would be hard to roll on a plush carpet.
