Will this case accomodate a camera cover/protector??

Yes it should. My otterbox cover didnt come with one, but i ordered a separate screen protector that also included a cover for the camera lens. The camera lens cover fit without any interference from the otterbox cover/case

Is this case soft on the hands when holding the phone?

The holster is hard plastic. The inner case is a much more pliable and comfortable to hold.
