Upgraded to 5 stars, sheath still sucks.
Update: Had to upgrade to five Stars. This thing is really holding its own. used it to process some fallen branches from The Storm... works pretty good for $8. Throw it in a pack, and you'll be happy you have it.This thing has meat clever type vibes. I actually think it'd be better in a jungle/island environment where you're dealing with reeds and Vines more than hardwood. I tried throwing it a few times, it has a lot of bounce to it, it bounces back more than anything I've ever thrown, so be careful. It slips out of the bottom of the sheath, so I would not wear it on a belt. The sheath needs an extra rivet. But honestly, for $8 I think you'll be happy to have it. It's tough, and heavy for its size. It came very sharp.I included some pictures of it next to a sog fasthawk, and a Gerber prodigy, and a zippo (for size comparison). It's about the size of a medium sized fixed blade.I'm definitely going to keep it for day hikes, or maybe lite overnights.

Love this Lightweight hatchet
The media could not be loaded. I love this lil hatchet/mini axe. It’s the perfect size for me. Lightweight easy to handle & IT FREAKN WORKS!!! I’m quite impressed. I used it to chop up massive roots under the house. FYI - just bc u cut the tree doesn’t mean u kill the roots. Holy Moly - the fig tree was cut 2x & there are 6 babies that double after each rain, but the root was literally dead on 1 end & continued growing - SERIOUS Foundation crisis on my hands. So praying the Tordon that I ordered will quickly kill the root system. Low key trying to stunt my neighbors tree whose root system has wreaked havoc on my yard, but the hatchet isn’t big enough, it’s a job for the chainsaws I’ve ordered. No regrets on my order. I love this little thing.

Nice
Didn't expect to write a review for this but it's really impressive for the price. I was expecting a throw away piece of stainless junk that I'd probably give away at a yard sale or something. But it seems to be mild or composite steel. One solid piece and a decent sheath.

Does what it was made for
Nice and inexpensive ax. I use it to trim trees around my yard.

Great for small projects!
Great Purchase for the price! This axe can cut small branches but not sharp enough out of the package to stay in a piece a wood with a decent amount of force behind it. Great for small projects but camping you'd need something larger or buy a sharpener for this one.

Fun to use carefully, throwing will ruin it fast.
Tl;DRPros:Looks cool.Is easy to hold.Really fun to use for slicing cuts (better than most knives because of the curved edge of the blade).Cheap enough to almost be disposable if you decide to throw it.Cons:You got it super cheap, so stop complaining- there are practically no cons *for the price*.-------In depth explanation:Have to be careful with the paracord or the handle wrapping will come undone pretty fast- so be mindful of that.Otherwise, these work pretty much as expected. Is it the highest quality alloy steel?Haha, no. Not by a long shot. But you should already know that by looking at the price: this is an incredible value that you can use for fun, not a life-or-death piece of outdoor kit.So again, it does EXACTLY what you expect it to do, as long as you do not have high expectations.Have fun!

Defective and Poorly Boxed - Not Giftable
Box the item was in (not the shipping box) was smashed and destroyed. The snap meant to hold the sheath in place was missing entirely - there's just a hole there where the snap should be, so the axe cannot be properly secured without worry it will slip out of the holder. I know it's inexpensive, but at LEAST send it with a functional sheath. I had meant to give this as a gift but given the state it was in upon arrival that's simply not possible without being REALLY insulting.
