I got to know this stuff during the COVID lockdown.
I got to like this during lockdown stuck on a freighter off of Sao Paulo with a crew of Koreans. It adds a nice flavour and thinkener for soups as I didn't have any Marmite that I usually use to give soups a little tasty edge. Now I use a little in Shepard's pies and beef casseroles.

A staple in my kitchen
Great base ingredient for soups, stews, and sauces. It is a concentrate so it is very salty, so only add a little to start with until you get used to it.Arrived partially open due to lack of packing in the box. Previous deliveries were fine.
