Q: Is the back side of it finished? I do not want to sit it against a wall but want to make sure it’s not just cardboard on the back.

Finished. Looks the same as inside. Very sturdy.

Q: Can the side door be set to open the other direction?

Yes it can, just flip it over when installing

Q: Will a Large be ok for a standard poodle?

I have an XL for my Aussiedoodle. He’s not quite as tall as some standard poodles I’ve met. I’d measure the poodle to double check height

Q: Would it be strong enough to stack a wire crate of the same size on top?

The max. static load capacity of the top is 154 lb. Please do not overload the crate.
