Memento Mori and Depictions of Death: An Image Archive for Artists and Designers

I was not sure what to expect from this book. I have several books and digital copies of grimoires because I love medieval relief art.I was pleasantly surprised to find it contained a lot of art I had not seen yet. In addition, you can download hi-res images which is really cool of the publishers to offer.I will be purchasing more of this series of books to add to my collection.

I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend who is into this sort of thing. The images are really very striking. Maybe the one downside was it seemed like the look and feel of the images throughout the book did not vary as much as I thought they might. But it was still a pretty cool book of images. I paired it with a written book on "Memento Mori".

Wanted help drawing morbid things, and that's what this book did.

I say was because my cat knocked cup of water over on to it but it's OK my husband ordered a new one from a used book store and it just came today.The art is awesome and macabre.

This book is a must! I love that it comes with a free digital copy as well. I'm an artist, but also work at a funeral home and will be using this to help with references for painting our prep room. Can't wait to buy the other reference books too!

Bought this as a surprise gift for my husband. The drawings inside are spectacular. He loves it!

I got this as a Christmas gift for my sister and since it doesn’t really show what the book looks like it’s hard to know the quality.I got it the day before Xmas Eve otherwise I probably would’ve returned had I had time to get something else.It’s a small paperback book that’s all in black and white with not great paper quality. Honestly it reminded me of the quality of a coloring book.I think my sister was also underwhelmed by it because she didn’t seem to excited and it definitely ended up on her bookshelf unread.

Gostei da questão da retratação do simbolismo agregado nas imagens nas diferentes eras retratadas, do fato de haver um link que acompanha o livro pra fazer o download em alta definição das imagens, e da qualidade do livro, em si (timbragem, papel, encadernação, capa dura, etc.), mas, pra ser honesto, eu esperava mais.

Ein Buch, das eher ein dickes Heft ist ;-) Toll ist, dass es auch eine kostenlose digitale Kopie gibt.Knapp 20,-€ ist etwas teuer, aber wer sich für das Thema interessiert und nicht alles zusammen googeln möchte ist hier wirklich gut bedient. Wie erwähnt gibt es die Illustrationen wirklich in hoher Auflösung im Buch wie als Download. Alles in allem - eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

Ces livres forment une source d'inspiration casi infinie pour ceux qui apprécient ce style de dessin, je recommande fortement.
