D-Link WiFi 6 Router, AX1500 Ai Series 802.11AX Smart Home Wireless Internet Gigabit Dual Band Network System (R15)

Good starter unit for home. easy to setup and configure.

Good router for the price. Probably one of the most affordable ways to upgrade to WiFi 6 and avoid renting from your ISP. It does the job for a 2bd apartment, strong signal and speeds throughout. It needs a few firmware updates out of the box but setup was simple otherwise. Not a bad looking unit either. Made in Taiwan instead of China if that sort of thing matters to you.

Good entry level to wifi 6 providing faster speeds with data rates up to 9.6 gbps. Ive had no problems with connectivty or speed.Does not support Qos which are more advanced features that manage and prioritize network traffic. Dupports WPA the latest security protocol. Easy to set up but does not have great or advanced parental control and filtering features.

I bought two units and linked them together I got connection, it has strong signal from what I see but I am getting very slow and spotty connection rates via WiFi (70 to 110 mbps max) on any of my computers. If I connect via Ethernet on this router I get 600+ mbps. I tried a few setups and even shutting down one of the routers to make sure it was not any kind of interference from the other router. Here are some picture of speed test I did. 85 mbps is via WiFi about 25 feet away from router. And 684 mbps is with 25 ft cat 5 ethernet cable connected to that router. both test were done with in minutes of each other for testing and on the same Mac Book pro (M3 chipset). It have also dropped connection on me a few times. I don't recommend getting this router. Wish I could send them back, but have had them for 2 months now and don't see way to return. Going to email D-Link for support.

It seems like a great value and I guess because it is a new product, you may not get the answers you are looking for. And that is why this note. Even if they tell you so this router cannot be setup in a MESH configuration as a satellite. It has to be the main router ONLY. that is what I got after repeated calling with DLINK support. I was told that it could be meshed with other AX routers. I bought a DIR 4860 and set that as a main router and wanted to use this as a mesh extender. No matter what I do - and the app will let you do it, the R15 will not get setup as a mesh extender. And in my case unless I was making a mistake it started messing with the WIFI from the DIR 4860. Now I have a useless R15 which of course I cannot do anything with as I am beyond the 3 month period.

This router has many wonderful features. I love the ability to manage the device remotely, built VPN settings, capability to set up a DMZ, and the possibility to set up VLANs.

Died after 3 months with a flashing orange indicator light on light 1. Might have been a fluke, might speak to the quality...who knows.Up to that point the router had performed well with no issues.
