Instant Rice Crackers for Chinese Sizzling Rice Soup (10 Oz.)

I was able to make sizzling rice soup and it was delicious, just like I remembered from my favorite restaurant.

UPDATE 09/2023:Never again. Once again arrived a bag of crumbs, totally unusable for sizzling rice soup. You'd think they'd pay attention to their reviews if they want to keep customers. DO NOT BUY!!___________UPDATE:Downgraded my original 5-star review after receiving my June 2019 order. The rice cakes were shipped in an Amazon envelope without any bubble wrap, so I have crumbs, not cakes. They no longer seem to be concerned with the product arriving undamaged and usable.___________ORIGINAL REVIEW:I seldom write Amazon reviews, but this product is so outstanding I'm making an exception. Many years ago, there was a restaurant in Arizona I went to regularly just for their delicious Sizzling Rice Soup. Twenty-one years ago I moved back to the Midwest, and I've never been able to find a Chinese restaurant here that serves it. I'd never tried making it myself because I couldn't figure out how to do the sizzling rice part, which is key. But I was craving it SO BAD recently, I decided to research recipes on the web. After a couple fails at making the rice part from scratch, I came across a site that recommended using these rice cakes.HUGE success!! Worked perfectly, and my homemade Sizzling Rice Soup was sooooo delicious! Two friends I've made it for can't stop raving about it.Amazon must have read another customer's review about the rice cakes arriving broken, because mine arrived VERY securely packaged in several layers of bubble wrap and we're unbroken. I'll be ordering these regularly!

the rice squares need to be fried up right before putting in the sizzling rice soup. but the shipping in a loose container caused them to be all broken to bits, and therefore frying is difficult, because you have to use a skimmer and the bits get brown at different times. i was disappointed by the shattered pieces

We have a restaurant that we used to go to when we lived in Michigan and we would always get their sizzling rice soup. Unfortunately that restaurant went out of business and we have been trying to replicate the soup ever since. These rice crackers taste EXACTLY like the restaurants. We've tried several other companies before we found this one and we will never use anyone else again! They taste AMAZING!

Awful. Just plain awful. Hard as a rock even after placed in boiling water. Tasted like curdled milk

Rice cakes were gummy and would not break apart or sizzle for that matter. Not good in the soup.

Great product when packaged correctly. Last batch arrived in an envelope mailer and was smashed considerably. I’ll try and find locally as the price has skyrocketed.

This was recommended for a Vietnamese rice snack, so I purchased it to make them.....this was so delicious and it puffed up perfectly and crunchy too! I am going to try it in sizzling rice soup as well!
