Good blade. Not a cheap knife!
Ordered this knife Saturday, received it Monday.I've owned Spyderco knives since the early 80s and I own over a dozen of them. Most of my earlier Spydercos were made either in Colorado or Seki, Japan, but many of my later, less expensive knives are from China. Regardless, they still maintain an edge (I only use the Spyderco triangle system on all of my good knives) and the fit and finish is great. This knife is no exception.I've been looking for a smallish, fixed blade edc that I could carry a number of ways, so I opted for this knife.Mine came sharp enough to shave and the fit and finish was as good as my more expensive knives. My only complaint is that the kydex sheath is very tight and putting the knife in and withdrawing it were very difficult and not conducive to quick deployment. Luckily, I work with kydex, so a hairdryer and a few minutes solved the problem.I'd like to take a moment to address some comments by other purchasers who said the knife looked or felt "cheap" or that because it was made in Taiwan, it was cheap.First, maybe they got a defect, as I said, mine was close to perfect. Yes, the blade is thinner than that of the Yojimbo, but it was done to reduce weight because it's a full tang knife. It's in no way an overly thin blade. This blade was meant for self defense, not hunting or bushcraft usage.Second, the Spyderco factory in Taiwan makes excellent blades. Taiwan is not China! I also own the Techno, a $300 knife at one time, made from fine, powdered steel...in Taiwan. The Taipei factory is on a par with either of the Colorado or Seki plants and a search of knife forums will confirm this.Overall I expect this knife to perform as well as my other Spydercos. If not, I'll did an update!

Awesome knife, thin and leaves barely any print under your shirt
Awesome knife, as expected from Spyderco. It should be said though, that this is not meant to be a utility knife, for everyday use. The tip of the blade is thin and sharp, and meant for slashing. It is not meant to bee used in any way for prying or any hard use. Regardless of where it was made, this knife has the feel and function of a well designed and built quality knife. The grind on the blade was even and equal on both sides, the sharpness is more than adequate for a factory produced blade. Overall fit and finish is perfect. Only issue I had with the whole package, was the sheath, Kydex or whatever it is. The blade would not fit into it easily or without tremendous force. I had to shave the edge where the sharp side of the blade makes contact with the sheath, with a razor blade. Once I got that shaped correctly, so the blade could be inserted with one hand yet still have more than enough retention on the blade, it was perfect. I now carry this knife with me everyday. In fact I like the belt clip on this sheath so much, that I purchased another Spyderco belt clip to use on my Kershaw Skyline fixed blade, which surprisingly came with the sheath, but without a clip. I have wanted to buy this knife for over a year, but when in saw the price was lower than the past (apparently many spydies were on sale) I finally broke down and got one. So glad that I did.

Very Easy to Carry
This is a FANTASTIC fixed blade. Very easy to conceal, even with tight clothing, and incredibly lightweight. The cutting edge is just over 4” and the gripping area is 4.5”. The blade is very thin but rigid. 2mm thick at blade spine, 7mm at handle. The BD1 steel is hard so it doesn’t sharpen as easily as cheaper knives but it holds its edge well. The Balance point of the knife is exactly at the top rivet and it fits in the hand well in reverse or standard grip. The handle scales have decent texture for grip but are soft enough they won’t irritate your skin while carried.I’ve carried this knife vertically at 11:00 IWB every single day for about a year straight, it sits that well on my belt line. I have also carried it with the handle 30 degrees above horizontal at the 6-7:00 position and it conceals well there too, although is not as comfortable.Excellent tool for concealed edc, I would highly recommend this knife for anyone.

Must have for self defense. Well worth the money!
The media could not be loaded. Knife is sharp as a mo********er right out the box. The shape of the blade is enough to send the message that I’m not messing around if I were in a situation where I need to take it out which can act as a deterrent and make any bad guys think twice about robbing or jumping me.In the event that I would have to use the knife it would be able to get the job done without a shadow of a doubt. This thing goes through pretty much anything on the wrong side of it without effort (I tested on sheets of paper and moved on to packages and boxes). The handle is also very comfortable and provides a confident and secure grip which is a must if you find yourself in a combat situation. Also the sheath is nice and solid. As long as you brace against the sheath with your thumb it’s easy to slide the knife out, otherwise it can be a little stiff. However, I think this is perfect because the last thing I want is this blade sliding out on its own and sending me to the hospital accidentally.Overall I am very satisfied with this knife. It checks all the boxes for me and is well worth the money. Don’t cheap out especially when it comes to protecting yourself in this crazy world we live in.
