Old Fashioned Buckwheat Pancake Mix, New Hope Mills, 2lbs (1)

This was my first experience with anything buckwheat, and I am SO glad I tried this! This is easiest recipe to follow: add water and stir.These are a bit more dense than regular pancakes, so they last a lot longer than regular. The flavor so subtle and light. They were perfect.These are certainly worth purchasing. You'll love them!

Decidedly pricier than in store brands, but I love the taste. Have been using this brand for years. Always add olive oil and egg, and reliably good results. Also use the mix for waffles, using recipe on container, and same excellent results.

This mix by New Hope Mills is actually a great pancake/waffle mix. I made both waffles and pancakes, and each convection was light and fluffy. The missing element for me in this mix was the buckwheat. I couldn't taste any buckwheat which has a distinct and wonderful flavor. I made several batches of pancakes and waffles and enjoyed each one...but was still disappointed. I decided to use half mix and half buckwheat flour (I used Bob's Red Mill organic buckwheat flour). I hoped the mix would still produce a light, fluffy product...and it did!! Buckwheat is a heavier flour and can "weigh down" baked or cooked items like pancakes/waffles. The waffles were perfect; I could taste buckwheat but they were still light and fluffy.

The intensity of the flavor was milder than anticipated, but all else was fine.

Been my favorite pancake mix for over three years now when i found it. Makes the most rich tasting and fluffy pancakes. 10/10.

It is a good pancake mix, but it is nothing like a buckwheat pancake. It isn't even brown.

These are supposed to be buckwheat pancakes, they do not taste like buckwheat.. the flour was white.. should have been brown! I will not buy again.

Forget supermarket mixes....these are better by a mile. Makes tender, delicious, fluffy pancakes, some of the best i've ever had. Highly recommended! These actually have flavor instead of over sweetened flour like most commercial mixes, especially the lousy, overrated brand in the red box which tastes nothing like it did years ago when it was good.
