Excellent small GPS dongle
I like the cheerful green LED on this dongle. It is configured for American GPS and Chinese BeiDou satellites It may be possible to re-configure in Windows using the Ublox U-center program but I don't know how.As another reviewer stated, you must use a USB 2 socket, not USB 3.I am using this on a Linux computer for Network Time Protocol. The jitter of the NMEA sentences is amazingly low at a millisecond or less. Not something the average user would care about except as an indication of excellent hardware and software.Linux detects the pulse per second output from this dongle but I have not found a way for NTP to use it. Again, not a thing most users would care about at all.I have this on a 2 metre Amazon USB extension cable in an attic window. On a Raspberry Pi or Linux computer you can install gpsd and gpsd-clients and then use xgps to watch a diagram of the American and Chinese satellites in the sky.I intend to get another one of these.

It works well - one thing to be aware of.
I got this to work on a Raspberry Pi 4 and have yet to try that as I'm waiting for the kit to be delivered. So while I wait, I tried this GPS dongle out with both Mac OS X 10.14 and 10.15 using OpenCPN as a testing app, and then also using Windows 10 (boot-camped) with downloaded divers - using the u-center testing app. One thing I discovered is that it seems to only work on a USB2 port and cable extension (5 metres), trying on a USB3 port or hub/powered cable extension does not work - apparently its due to the type spread spectrum signal USB3 uses for data integrity. I also noticed mainly US GPS satellites being registered predominantly then a couple of Chinese - so far no Russian sats . It suits my needs all the same. Be aware it does take about 15 to 20 minutes to aquire a reasonable set of sats to lock position to about 2 to 5 metre accuracy.

easy to install on Linux and Mac
I bought this to use with Raspberry Pi and it works a treat. A right pain to get working on Windows 10. Drivers no problem but getting it to work with software. Shame that Google Earth Pro (NOT Maps) won't work interactively with it.

It worked well for a while
but seems to have stopped working.I've no idea what Amazon mean by sheerness - so I've given sheerness 3 stars. On Value for Money it's a good price on Amazon, other suppliers can make it look overpriced.
