My daughter is using this book for her piano classes and she is really enjoying it. All the information available is very easy to read. It’s a good book for self taught piano artist too for a start

I purchased this book for my son (8) who recently took an interest in learning how to play piano. I don't feel that it would be a good replacement for lessons but it's a great supplement to help in the interim. It teaches hand placement and music theory, as well as some beginner songs that helped to build up his confidence quickly.TLDR; It's great for young beginners who are seeking a solid foundation to start with. Highly recommend.

Great book for piano lessons which her teacher recommended.

This is an amazing starter book for someone who is trying to teach their own child to play the piano at home. It's super affordable, and comes with great explanation of theory and some fun playable pieces. Something that I love about this brand is that there is an optional play along section for the teacher, to fill out some of the extra notes in the piece. This adds a lot of fun and a lot of confidence to a new student! Highly recommend.

I am a music teacher and got this for my young beginning piano students. It is what I used as a kid, too. It is a decent book, though a little quirky. My one complaint is, it spends half the book without introducing a staff (which I found helpful for my students), but then introduces bass, treble, and the grand staff in just a few pages - 3 short pieces on just bass, 3.5 on treble, and you're off to reading on a grand staff! I felt like that went a little too fast, especially after 40 pages without a staff. I like that this book includes some simple theory exercises, too.

Good for beginners

I use this book to teach two 5 year old girls. They love the colourful illustrations. I find the theory pages really useful and I sometimes photocopy and laminate them for multiple use and practice. It progresses really well, making logical steps.It is American so uses 'quarter note' rather than 'crotchet', but I haven't really found this to be a problem.I did a LOT of research before choosing Alfred's course, and I haven't been disappointed so far. Will definitely continue to use this course in the future.

I am learning the piano on my own and have never taken solfeggio lessons, so I had to adapt to the scores, and this little notebook allows me to "create" my scores with my own signs. I highly recommend it, whether you are a beginner or a pro.
