The pictures add so much to the story. I read it to a kid that claims to hate reading, and it even got him engaged!

This was AMAZING. I've long been a Rick Riordan fan but I am now mama to an 8 year old boy who HATES to read. He loves being read to, and we have started with some of the stories I was enchanted by as kind/teen/young adult.He like Harry Potter but I stumbled across this illustrated version after I read the Heroes of Olympus series for myself. I thought he would love it and I was right! He is enthralled by the pictures, which were BREATH TAKING and excited by the story line. This book is pretty advanced for average 2nd graders, lots of big words, full of Greek words because it's fiction based off of Greek Mythology. So amazing though. Everyone looked just like I had always pictured in my head!Usually we do 1 chapter a night, but when we started reading The Lightning Theif, often we read 3 per night because he was BEGGING to see/hear more.We were SO EAGER to get our hands on the second one, and I was SO BUMMED that I could find it- as it turns out they didn't illustrate any further, the closes I can get are the graphic novels, AKA the comic book versions and it is just NOT the same thing. 😭PLEASE DO THE NEXT BOOK EXPEDITIOUSLY!

This book was exactly what I hoped for. We bought this for our nephew for Christmas. He’s a big Harry Potter fan, but he’s too young to get past book three. We bought this hoping to get him interested in the series and give him something new to follow. Not only was the story a hit (I knew it would be), but the illustrations are beautiful and exactly what I’d imagined from Rick Riordan’s scene descriptions. I also love the map of Camp Half-blood. Truly hoping that there will be illustrated copies of the rest!Side note: My sister-in-law was excited to know about the teaching aids on the author website as well.

Wonderful illustrated version of this loved book. I thought this would be the perfect bridge into reading full chapter books and it really was. My 5 year old son loved listening to the story and the illustrations helped him stay connected to the book.

Illustration is fun and makes the book more interesting to read. Got one for my son and one for my brother. 9&12

When I asked my 10-year old nephew what he was reading, he told me about this book. I told him I would put it on my book list and that I’d read it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations; me enjoying a book for 10-year olds...??? My only regret is that these weren’t around when I was 10 years old. But better later than never at age 72.

I purchased the hard cover as a Christmas gift for my niece. She was/is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and after reading all of those, she hasn’t found any other books that capture her attention and so she hasn’t been reading much. I was determined to find another series that would get her reading again, so after asking around and hearing things like “Lighting Thief is my favorite book of all time!” I knew I found her next book/series. My sister text me yesterday and said about my niece “she is already on page 173 and hasn’t showered in 3 days!” She was saying “thanks a lot” Hahaa, but it was a huge compliment and my beautiful niece is reading again!

I bought this for my daughter (a long time Percy Jackson fan) for Christmas. She absolutely loved it and was over the moon with this gift. An all around great purchase.

Lovely illustrated version. Bought to encourage my son to read as the colour illustrations hold his attention more easily.

Este libro i,suturado lo compre porque tenía muy buen precio, me llego en excelentes condiciones es algo pesado de manipular, está en inglés pero yo no tuve problemas ya que como es para muy jóvenes el lenguaje no es tan complicado, las ilustraciones están bien, algunas mejores que otras pero todo va de acuerdo a la historia que por cierto esta muy buena, pronto estará la serie en Disney por eso es que leí el libro 😅

Estava com muita dúvida se comprava ou não, mas vi alguns videos no YouTube e resolvi arriscar, e valeu muito a pena!!! A capa é um papel que é possível retirar (o papel é bem sensível então tome cuidado com ele na hora de tirar ou guardar) a capa em si com o papel retirado é um azul com uma testura mais aveludada, com o relevo de um tridente.desenhos lindos (algumas páginas não tem desenho porém eu não achei problema já que os desenhos são muito realistas e bem feitos) espero ter ajudado!!!

Creo que es un libro precioso, tuve suerte de conseguirlo a un precio tan barato. Lo único malo es que no venía en el plástico y aunque no venía maltratado se pueden ver ondulaciones de humedad en algunas de las últimas páginas, aunque en realidad no lo afecta. Tiene páginas totalmente a color y las ilustraciones son maravillosas. Espero que hagan libros ilustrados de toda la serie.
