Purchased this camera as part of my first entry into the home security system world. After doing research I felt that this brand had the products that would meet my needs and do so at a reasonable price point, while still delivering good quality. I was not disappointed with this camera. Installation was seamless and picture quality is perfect. Night vision is far better than I expected. Thus far I am very happy with Onwote.

I order this to replace another POE camera that did not have PTZ. The camera I received was defective as the zoom feature did not work. When I tried to use the feature the motor sounded like it was working but the image stayed the same. Not sure if it was damaged during shipping or QC issue. I requested a replacement from Amazon and will see what happens once it arrives and is setup and will update review.The other issues I have is with the software of the camera, I consider them to be severe security issue. There's no way to enable HTTPS access and will not allow your password the have special characters, only letters and numbers.I'm okay with the software limitations as the camera will be on a closed system but hope they get fixed in a future firmware release. I advised against the camera having direct internet access due to these limitations.UpdateThe replacement camera worked without issue. However, the software still has the 2 limitations I mentioned on the original post and hope they will get fixed with new firmware.As to others comments and concerns about the camera calling home, I connected it to my VLAN with internet access for testing. On my firewall I didn't see any outgoing traffic once all web connected services were disabled/turned off, including NTP. When NTP was enabled it would try to connect to Microsoft NTP server every second.

Camera stop working, problem with software defective, won’t let you logging or connect to actual camera, had hopped it would last but it didn’t, will never buy a camera from onwote brand anymore, will stick with brand name cameras, just a waste of money, no help on website ether

The camera hardware produces a very good image and the PTZ works fine. However, the software is quirky and difficult at times. Occasionally, the image pixelates out which is annoying. Make sure you disable P2P or it will be calling home to China all the time. I emailed support about a problem and got a language challenged non-answer, but it only took about a day.

This is a great little camera. Great video, awesome or range, fast movement compared to my old done camera. My only issue came trying to run H265. The camera lost its mind so I went back to 264Update:There was a bug in the firmware as shipped - the camera would set to 24 hours off of the actual date. Two days after contacting the manufacturer, they had a new firmware for me to install and these have been rock star camera's since.

So far this I have had almost a year, and it is doing very good. Make sure the lens is clean and it is a good performer. The zoom is not really a long reach but helpful. The picture quality is good. Night vision is also good.I compare it to a few other PTZ cameras I have out of the 25 installed. I have extensive experience and was a designer of these security systems at the capture level. I like the Dahua, and HikVision the most, as that picture quality day and night is outstanding. I use a couple Dahua large bullet style cams that have audio and excellent IR night vision. These Onwote models get better in picture quality in closer space viewing. But PTZ on the top brands are overpriced and too costly. For around $150 these are great. Works well with overhangs. I would recommend.If they can improve the zoom reach, and the IR power it would be welcome.UPODATE, I find it very frustrating that it shows multiple presets in the web app, yet it only supports 1 Preset. So each time you want to move to another location view, you have to do it manually, and with 1 preset you can auto move it back. This really limits a PTZ function. I use Blue Iris and this has built in functions but cannot use due to this.I do like the cameras, as I have 3 but the more you get your system setup, the more you realize PTZ cazmeras really need multiple presets, AND the fact it has it in the web app, tells me that this is easily solvable, but its been over a year.

I rarely provide reviews. Something is either really bad or really good. In this case it’s the good. Putting things in perspective in comparison with other value line cams this is the best cam I have found in this price range with these capabilities. Onwote support is extremely responsive and helpful. I found that emailing them was the easiest and I always had responses by the next AM. firmware updates are available via email support that seemed to resolve a few of the questions I had.

EDIT: 12/19/2019ONWOTE reached out to me because of the review I had left, they though I had received a bad camera so they decided to send me a new camera for me to test out. I did get the camera for free since I had returned the other, but that in any way will it sway me to give them a good review.I have has the camera now installed for at least 2 months and the defects that had prompted me to give it a bad review are gone from this new camera, in my opening and I told them so, they can make the gears that move the camera around stronger and they responded to my advice with a positive answer, the next generation will have much stronger gears.The camera is easy to install and it does have a very good night vision and daytime picture is excellent.I will be looking forward to the next generation of this camera to upgrade some of my older PTZ cameras.*************************************************************************************************************************************Do not buy this camera, this is the biggest junk you can ever buy, it broke down during the setup, I could not even get it installed the gears are so bad that they stripped within a few minutes. Picture quality is no better than a 2MP camera and I can't tell you about night vision because it didn't last until night time.
