Sabine's Notebook: In Which the Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin & Sabine Continues (Griffin and Sabine)

Like Griffin and Sabine, Sabine's Notebook doesn't disappoint me with the postcards and letters. When I read Nick Bantock's works, they bring forth excitement and anticipation. I close my eyes and imagine sitting on the floor of an attic opening a treasure-trove of history. Sabine's Notebook took me on a journey of emotional reactions towards Griffin's "emotionally unavailable" behavior as well as Sabine's mysterious aura and never ending of kindness and patience. In the end it left me perplexed and parched and in need to quench my thirst, eagerly ready to read the next saga of Griffin and Sabine - "The Golden Mean".

I decided I could take a chance on a book for 77 cents (that's correct, 77 cents) plus 3.95 shipping. I hadn't been able to find this new anywhere without paying a ridiculous price. Wanted it to complete my trilogy. It took a little longer to receive (probably around 10 days), but worth the wait and the price! So surprised that the book advertised as Very Good Condition, was, in my view, Excellent!

This book is the 2nd book in the Griffin & Sabine series. It starts with his inviting her use his apartment (if she exists) and ends with his return to his apartment to find it empty but with a note asking him why he never returned. Of course the story is told through the brilliant art of Nick Bantock's collection of letters and postcards. Settle in.

The book "Sabine's Notebook" is fabulous. I ordered the complete set(6)from different merchants. No problems - rapid shipping and received as described brand new. The "Extraordinary Correspondence of Griffin & Sabine" is something one should have in their personal library. If you don't have the collection buy them. If you do have the collection treasure them. I purchased the first book in the collection "Griffin and Sabine" and someone stole it from me. So I am so very happy that I was able to purchase it again, before it became extinct or no longer in print. I will treasure this collection and keep a third eye on them this time. Lov'n it....

In the second of the Griffin and Sabine stories, we find Sabine having travelled from her island in the South Pacific to London in order to finally meet Griffin whom she had been waiting to meet for many years. Griffin unfortunately had already picked up and left London to travel the world assuming that he would never see Sabine and never be able to realize fully the love he had for her. The book is then filled with the correspondence between Sabine who is writing from Griffin's home and Griffin who receives the letters at various points along his journey. A great ending that lends added sadness to the storyline that you will not want to miss!

This book is amazing! It is beautiful to look at - never want to share it for fear it won't come back! It is so much fun to read the letters and open them. And most of all, it makes one use their brain to decide what is real and what might not be and how on earth the story will end! Which means of course, every book has to be purchased because there has to be an ending at some point. Without the last book, it is impossible to guess!!! HIGHLY recommended series.

Part of a three-book series in which Nick Bantock tells a mysterious and romantic tale. "Tells" is probably not the correct word to use. "Shows" might be a better one, as much of the book is not words, but rather items. Difficult to describe. You literally do not know what the next page will bring. Be forewarned, though, you will not be able to read only one book. Once you get started you'll need them all.

The Griffin and Sabine saga is one that I love to follow. I love pulling out the letters from their envelopes as if I was receiving the mail. Great story to follow!

I loved the first book "Griffin & Sabine", and despite the cliffhanger, I never knew it had a sequel (let alone five sequels!). It made perfect sense to me as a stand alone. But "Sabine's Notebook" is the perfect continuation of their story.In "Sabine's Notebook", their relationship develops. While Griffin travels the world, trying to find himself, Sabine becomes a wonderfully safe haven of support and wise, kind words. I loved seeing how she grew from a strange, almost menacing threat to a wonderfully understanding partner. She is the woman Griffin has always needed. She is exactly what his life was still missing. They are one of the most convincing couples in fiction.The end, however, is twice the mindf*ck we encountered int he first book. You never know what's real and what isn't. If you loved Griffin & Sabine Book 1, you'll devour Book 2 and immediately move on to Book 3.

I bought this bok for my arty brother - and it's beautifully made, lovely pictures and items (like a grown up pop-up book) with very little text, but enough to bring you through a story... lovely

Excellent delivery and service, terrific story well worth the price I paid, if you are not familiar with this material it makes for a compelling read.
