This shampoo is great. I love that it has a "0" on the EWG site. Some reviewers suggested it didn't foam up for them or that they had to use a ton of it..I have not had those problems. I usually apply it directly at my roots (not into my hand), and as I massage it in I can feel it foaming nicely. I use about 3-4 pumps and that is enough for my long hair. I shampoo twice as per the recommendation, and still the bottle lasts about 3 months for me. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I don't feel it is very conditioning, despite claiming to both shampoo and condition. I am on the market for a conditioner to use with it.

I don’t actually ever like giving bad reviews. I choose the things I buy carefully, and additionally, this seems like a good company that is trying to do something good for the environment. All of that being said, I did not have a good experience at all with this product. The smell is nice which is the only reason I didn’t give it a one star rating. I have thick straight/kind of wavy hair that goes a little below my shoulder blades. It’s not really oily or dry, and when I first used this product my hair was not especially dirty, just a little hairspray. And two days’ worth of oil. I had to use A LOT of this product to wash my hair, like 1/3 of the bottle. I don’t feel like it truly foamed at all, and like I said it just did not seem to clean my hair. The last and final negative thing I have to say is that it left a kind of film on my hair after my hair had air dried it felt dirtier than ever. I wanted to like this, but it did not work for me. I will continue the search for a natural shampoo that works.

I have long hair and I get excema from most other hair products except this one. It tends to be drying on my highlighted hair but have solved that issue by using the Mangrove conditioner available by the same company. I use a large toothed comb and be patient. It pays off my hairdresser says she has never seen my hair in better shape. It smells a bit like oregano but have gotten used to the smell and find I have grown to enjoy its fragrance. When shampooing I breathe the aroma in deeply now that I know it is aromatherapy as well. Looked for a gluten free soy free formula for a year after being diagnosed celiac. When I found Keys Mangrove shampoo I was ecstatic. Finally a shampoo that left my head and hair feeling clean and light without using a lot of product, so I bought a lot of it. I repurchased when I ran out only to find it was new and improved with red palm (a highly debated ingredient for not always being sourced sustainably or LEGALLY. ) the new formula left a white sticky residue so thick I could not comb my hair or wash it out. I lost several patches of hair at the scalp. It's barely regrown 1 1/2 yrs later, hence my review. Read up on palm oil use before you inadvertently support deforestation by buying products from companies that include this "cheap" ingredient. We don't need it. Just use baking soda and a vinegar wash for the same results (as close as I could get) as Keys old formula.

Pros: one of the lowest chemical content shampoo I have found. I use this for my toddler.Cons: foam dispenser doesn't work very well -- starts to dribble after a few uses. We put it in a Babyganics foam handsoap dispense, and that works very well. Also, it doesn't lather all that well. Finally, this is rather pricey.

Easy to use and great for hair without drying it or irritating my scalp

This is an excellent quick rinsing shampoo that doesn't leave a residue. The only caveat is the forming mechanism, which until recently has been problematical. The last two orders have worked well, so possibly that issue has been laid to,rest.

I really want to like this shampoo, but have definite issues with it. It leaves my thin, fine hair feeling dry, dull and sticky. Whether used alone or with the conditioner in the evening, by morning my hair looks like it hasn't been washed in over a week. I purchased another foaming dispenser which has fixed the no-foaming issue but am not yet sure if it will also help the other issues. I may end up just using it as a body wash. Disappointed.
