Q: Our current air conditioner is 26 inches wide - will this fit in there? Do I need to purchase anything with it?

This AC is 141/2 tall and approx 24 wide But it comes with an I stalation kit as well as several strips of foam and things to use to make it fit or to fill in the area around if you have extra inches on the sides. I didn’t need to buy anything else with it because it also comes with a wall sleeve kit, the back metal grate and wires. I had a sleeve already so I just used the provided foam strips and made it a good fit without gaps. If you do not have a wall sleeve you’ll need a metal sleeve but if you already have a 26 inch AC in the wall, then you must have one too. I actually wasn’t sure what the back grate was for or if I should even use it. I think it’s if you have no existing metal grate? Our wall sleeve is 26 inches across so we have around a half inch or so leftover on either side when the AC is in the wall, and it’s filled in by the included foam. It works fine.
