It can be used on top of a log-burning stove, but be careful to keep the handle off the side if possible and not directly over the heating element.

Has anyone experienced paint & handle melting when used on an induction hob only?

Nope, used on induction and gas stoves and no issues.

Is it working on induction?

We decided recently to no longer state that our Stovetop Kettles are induction compatible. During initial testing, the product worked with induction stoves in the US, but it has been brought to our attention that the compatibility is not the same internationally or with some of the newer induction hobs. Our stovetop kettles are still fully compatible with coil top electric and gas stoves, and we are working swiftly to update our product guides and packaging to reflect the changes to induction compatibility.

Any silicone or plastic that comes in contact with the water?

No, everything that water contacts is stainless steel, the only plastic item is the handle.
