Only get this if you want the amphibious feature. Undoubtedly cool and fun, but a lot of cut corners
My bottom line - it's a lot of fun, but only get this if you are specifically looking for an amphibious truck. Keep in mind, being amphibious also means it works in any wet conditions (rain, mud, and snow), where other RC cars do not. However, if you don't need a water poof vehicle, there are better options in this category that are faster, better built, better controls, better battery, better wheels, etc.Notes:When this arrived I couldn't believe it was truly 1:16 based on the size box. However, it is indeed 1:16, it's just that the amphibious wheels are smaller and lower profile than my other RC trucks. So it's great for smooth terrain or water, but it's not the best option for rocky terrain. You can tell even by their own pictures that it's somewhat low profile. One picture shows it on mud and rocks, and you can see the rocks scraping the bottom. It flips over a lot.I'm giving this a solid 4 star because it's fast, it's a blast, it looks cool, it's affordable, and the amphibious feature is a lot of fun. But there are a lot of cut corners here, so realize you're gaining the amphibious feature but losing a lot of other features. For example:The remote control is horribly cheap. There is no variable speed, it's just forward or reverse. It's not great for control, racing, or precision driving. The wheels don't actually turn! This is skid steering only. To turn the vehicle left or right, the left wheel goes forward while the right wheel goes backward, like a tank. It's fun for tricks but horrible for control, especially at higher speeds. You're going to flip this thing a lot. There are no lights, no sounds, no other features to it.It's not really built to take apart and repair or upgrade parts. It is for these reasons that they call this a starter RV truck (they say ages 4-7). Obviously this is fun for any ages, even adults. But they are trying to say nicely that it lacks advanced features.I'm just trying to convey a complete picture, I'm not trying to be harsh. I actually love it, mainly because we have plenty of water nearby (both a pool and also a lake property). But if I had fifty bucks to spend and could choose just one RC truck to own, this would not be it. I would prioritize getting something with a better controller. Again, the ONLY reason to get this is for the amphibious feature. If you're looking for a back yard toy that is not going to be in water, there are better options. One final note - someone said they didn't feel the battery compartment was water tight. I don't understand that criticism at all. The battery compartment has a water tight gasket seal. I wouldn't try to submerge it, but it's perfectly fine for water use.

Amphibious Remote Car
The remote control car comes with two batteries and a charger. It is easy to maneuver and is pretty fast. It can climb and go through puddles with no issue. My son loves it.

Not amphibious
The image accurately represents the product.Remote control cars, trucks, airplanes, etc., are one of my hobbies. And I’m always looking for a nice amphibian remote control anything! On the ground, this remote control car performs well. The speed is outstanding. The remote control allows for swift directional changes. The colors of the vehicle are vibrant. And the pricing is exceptional, based on the remote control, speed and quality of the vehicle. This is not an amphibious vehicle. First, when placed in the water the vehicle automatically stalls. If you place the vehicle in the water while moving or allow for the vehicle to roll into the water it putters out. Some of the better amphibious remote control vehicles when placed underwater will actually come to the surface and continue to roll. This vehicle, however, did not resurface at all.If you are looking for a fast ground remote control vehicle this one certainly fits the bill. However, if you are looking for a land vehicle as well as an amphibious vehicle, this remote control vehicle is not for you.

A Fine RC Truck In It's Price Range
The media could not be loaded. This body on this RC truck looks great. It's not the typical super light weight body which, depending on your opinion, is a good or bad thing. I think it will take bumps and crashes better than lightweight bodies. The body shell can be removed and you can essentially use it without the body attached. The mounting points aren't universal so you could replace the body shell with a new one, with some modifications to it. Basically being able to remove the body aids in cleaning under it more than anything.Including two 900mAh batteries was a good move. It is much appreciated. The charging cable is the typical cheap light USB cable. It gets the job done....slowly.The remote? Well, typical tank control remote. Light and cheap and waaaay too small. It does sync and connect quickly. It has good range. 50+ feet.Included was a slightly larger than average cheap screwdriver. Appreciated.I don't mind these tank steer RC cars/truck. The tracking is typically not straight and that's present here, but not in the extreme. It has enough power to get over most things and plow through higher grass and the like. Straight line speed isn't great but it's not slow.It was able to get through some rather muddy puddles after a rain storm but did get stuck in the mud a fair bit. Here the tank controls either helped or hindered it.Sorry, I didn't have a body of water nearby to test it's amphibious properties.IDK. It's not super exciting. Not very customizable at this level. It's not a terrible value. Could be better. Just sort of ho-hum. It is fun to take out for a half hour or so and play with, but I don't find myself super excited to get it out ASAP and head back out every day. At low 40 dollars it's a recommend.
