Does this guillotine have a self sharpening blade?

I don't think it stated it was self-sharpening on the packaging, however, it makes the same noise when it is being used as it would if it was being sharpened. I haven't had mine long but I have used it a lot, and the blade is still as sharp as when I bought it. I've had numerous guillotines in the past, but this is definitely my favourite by a mile.

Does this have measurements along the blade lengthways? I can only see measurements along the width.

There is not a measuring rule along the blade edge, but the whole of the base is a squared grid with marks for all the different paper sizes. I find it a very useful piece of equipment. I hope this is helpful.

Can I use this item to cut A4 card along the short 81/4 side? Thanks.

yes it will cut the short side of A4 paper 22cm. But it will not cut long side of A4 paper

Is this Tim Holtz guillotine grey and black as in picture or grey and red as described. Thank you.

I assume it is because I have two of TH guillotine cutters the 6,5 inch is in red and gray while the 12 inch is in gray with the black handle. I hope this helps.
