4000 Coffees and counting
I bought this in 2016 and is now 2023. I've made over 4000 cups of coffee and this little box must have hat in the region of 16K-18K whacks as it usually takes a couple of more to get all the coffee out. It's still works and looks like the day I bought it.

Bar in wrong place for clean extraction
Good quality plastic, the bar is solid so no worries about giving a firm 'knock' to bash the puck out. However, the problem for larger 58mm portafilters is that the bar is central which does not give space for the puck to be cleanly knocked out... the Sage knockbox had a much better placed bar... giving more space for the puck to fall out without obstruction. So with the Grindestein it often takes a few bashes and is messier to get the puck out.

Great for what it does.
Nice looking product. Just wright for what it is designed to do. It's sturdy and robust - no issues with it whatsoever! Holds a few days of spent coffee before it is easily spread over the garden.

Expensive but worth every penny
After one year of twice daily usage, I can say this little knock box is worth every penny.Looks exactly the same as new. The rubber coating of the bar makes the knocking process not very loud and does not slip on the counter. To clean just soapy water and no metal parts so doesn't rust.If you're looking for a knock box, you can stop looking now.

Perfect for used coffee grounds
It fits perfectly on my de longhi espresso machine so neat and tidy. Is well made and easy to use. A spoon to distribute the grounds when full around the garden. Ideal.

Small and fits under espresso machine
Have been using it for a while now, still good as new. It is as described - small and handy, and easy to rinse off. No more dribbles of coffee on the kitchen floor, no more accidental drops of the espresso basket! It sits neatly on our espresso machine (where the mug usually goes) so no extra counter space taken up. It’s also handy as a knock box for my gravity tea steeper. Only complaint is it’s a bit expensive but if it lasts forever then it’s worth it!

Make your wife happy, get a knock box
Why do I need this was a question I asked myself a few times. If you're reading this you're probably thinking the same. Let's be honest, it's just an expensive bin with a rubber bar across the top.My coffee making routine would see me unlocking the portafilter, walking across the kitchen (dribbling coffee or leaving a small trail of used coffee grounds), getting to the bin and trying to find a spoon, then spooning out the used grounds (which never came out in one go), sometimes dropping the basket into the bin............ I got bored of this after a while and put a small Tupperware tub next to the machine but I still had to spoon out the grounds. This was okay, but still not a perfect solution.I bought the knock box and it was delivered the next day. It was slightly smaller than I was expecting, but on reflection who wants a load of used grounds hanging around. Plus, space is at a premium on my worktops. I've show the box next to a pound coin so you can gauge the size. This is a quality item, it just feels nice and solid. You can give the portafilter a nice whack on the bar (which stops the basket falling out) and the grounds are 'ejected'. The basket is then ready for fresh grounds - job done. So, a small Tupperware tub or a walk to the bin with a spoon will do the trick, but this in my opinion is way better. Plus, I empty the use grounds on the garden and its dishwasher safe.I'm happier now that my wife doesn't grumble about my coffee trail across the kitchen floor.

Finally, no fuss! Perfect knock out box.
I was looking to upgrade my cheap knock out box. The one I had before started falling apart,This is sturdy, goes in the dishwasher, can hold about 10 pucks, is very compact, and does not slide around due to the rubber grip at the bottom. You bang the portafilter directly on the rubber part, so the puck will break into two (most of the time). It works as expected, nice and firm but also wouldn't damage my expensive portafilter or basket.I imagine it will last for many, many years.
