PERFECT for my UNIQUE application.
Perfect for MY UNIQUE application. First and foremost, I am not using this equalizer for music. I'm using it as a NOISE FILTER for an outdoor microphone. Background: I have a lot of security cameras, but I'm using the cameras for WILDLIFE OBSERVATION. You'd be amazed at the wildlife that comes out when we pull our shades for the night. While my cameras have microphones, the sound quality is pretty bad, and the little microphone pinholes are very sensitive to WIND. So I stuck a Shure Dynamic Mic in a plastic box, with a windscreen. The sound quality was much improved, but it picked up a lot rumble from airplanes overhead and traffic going by. There was also a constant roar from traffic on a highway that was over 2 kM distant. I wanted to filter out the low frequency sounds so I could hear wildlife. When I saw this equalizer, I noted that rather than it being a modern ACTIVE device with electronic filtering, it is a PASSIVE filter, comprised of L/C networks. That's exactly what I was looking for! L/C stands for "Inductance/Capacitance," in engineering terminology. In other words, it filters by using COILS and CAPACITORS to make TUNED STAGES for the 6 frequency ranges that it covers. That's the BEST kind of filtering, and adds NO NOISE of its own. Perfect! So I stuck it in line between a Mic PREAMP and an AMPLIFIER. I was able to "roll-off" almost all the sound below 2 kHz, and BOOST the sound ABOVE 2 kHz. Now I can barely hear traffic going by, and I can no longer hear traffic on the highway that's over 2 kM from here. I still hear human voices clearly, birds and crickets, and dogs barking. This is just what I wanted to do. So my application may be quite different than yours, but I hope my experience is of use to you. de KØUNX, Jim, in Jefferson County, Colorado.

It does have crystal clear sound as advertised and the levels are spot on.
I wasn't quite sure how much power the equalizer used but the power supply says 20 watt on it and so it's pretty low for the drain and it does have very nice sound. I think the equalizers are spot on in terms of what I was looking for and I am using for equalizer for a headphone amplifier and I think it works great for that and was able to raise the midrange some and the next bass a bit and even the treble and then the low bass a small amount and the highest treble and it works great. I am using for monitor headphones and so that further brings out the vocal which is necessary sometimes when using monitoring sidepathed headphones off a vj system and so this is very nice. I think the price is pretty good for a unit and there are very few choices and this is an equalizer that works as a 6 band equalizer in close to a 1/2 rack setting and just a little larger which was fine. Thanks for having this device and it works good and I hope to get to use for a lot of years and I am sure it work fine because it sounds very clean and so does the equalizer itself when setting the equalizer. Thanks.

Amazing Balance Equalizer!
This equalizer took my system to the next level. This is not your run of the mill gadget but a well made product that is worth every penny. The sound quality from the very low bass to the high treble that this equipment brings, added so much to the sound stage presence that I was looking for. The only thing is that you have to wait a few minutes before the equalizer kicks in. But I guess anything worthwhile is worth waiting for—and this Lokius Balance Equalizer is no exception! Another amazing piece of Schiit!!!

Not Enough Bass
i hooked this unit up to an Emotiva Reference Pre-amp to get some tone control' it was clean that i can say but just didn't have the bass control there for me, i needed much deeper and was very surprised due to the manufacture- a solid unit though !

Nice quality, very smooth and musical
Looks great, high quality feel and look. True bypass seems to be, well, true bypass. Great for quick ABing EQ curve or just taking it out of the system when not needed. Very wide Q smooth sounding EQ curves. Subtle boost and cuts evenly applied through the entire travel of the pots.. You can really dial in (or out) the exact amount of frequency change you want. Not jumpy at all.Very clean sound. The deep bass is a nice wide Q and seems to have a hi pass filter somewhere in there so you can dial in some nice fat low bass without totally stressing your speakers with freq's you can't hear anyway. The upper treble band doesn't seem to do much. Even with the wide Q it is WAY up there. All in all a nice way to fix room issues, or widen the sound of speakers that are a touch nasally or whatever. Nice way to create a 'not extreme' loudness type response for low volume listening.

Might be best investment you might make in your stereo system
Wow, what a great addition to my system. I have a Forte pre amp with no equalizer controls. This might be the best addition I have made to my vintage 40 year old system, deeper sound stage and overall better acoustics. Having second thoughts about adding a sub woofer.

Solid EQ
Recently put together a sound system with some real speakers and some amps and wanted more tone control. The eq market isn't what it was when I was a teen. This seemed to be one of the more solid offerings. I wish it was 10 bands but it definitely gets it done. If you want more than that flat signal this will bring out the crisp highs and punch out those lows. No frills, just some knobs that work.
