Anyone tried using this under a portable gas grill?

I guess…the grill would probably poke holes in it,

Will this eventually remove the finish of a painted wooden nightstand if left on for a period of time?

I don’t think it will, But I used mine on quartzite, so can’t really speak to the painted wood

Can this be cut down to a pizza pan diameter and used in the oven for baking up to 400F-450F?

Although the heat resistant is between -40°F and 446°F, but not suggest using in the oven for baking.

Can they be put in the microwave under a soup bowl?

I would NOT recommend it. For starters the mats are over two feet long, way too big for most home microwaves. Just get a regular plastic cover if you want to cover your soup bowl. Or put Saran wrap over it and nuke it 1 or 2 minutes at a time.
