Easy to use! You'll get it to work on 1st try with my review!
After ordering it I read some reviews and was a bit worried about the learning curve to use it. It came faster than planned so that was exciting! After reading a few reviews I tried it. What worked the quickest and accurate to get it going was changing the direction of the groove and the red string pull. See positions in my photo. Having it horizontal and pull out towards me (with string coming from left), I got it to go on the first try in this direction! You'll be successful too! I show the correct direction and incorrect (vertical and pulling down on string) in my photos. It's easy to use and get it started! Looks durable and has a great grip on edge. The strap is loose for my wrist but hasn't been an issue. I'm very pleased with it.

Exactly what i was looking for!
This design mimics classic wrist workout units and their functionality. low cost and effective unit. seems to be very durable and even comes with a spare string! hopefully this will help me on my quest to defeat Goku.... or at least Yamcha...

Doesn't work as expected...
Failed many times to get a decent spin going and after every fail had to annoyingly put the string in again to give another try. Looked up videos of people using a similar product (but not the same brand) to see if I was doing it wrong. Those videos made it look easy, so eventually I thought let me try another brand. Ended up trying a different Gyro Ball and it worked on the first try. I don't recommend this one. Also, this one made an annoying squeaky sound, so even if it worked it would have been annoying to use.

Not as easy as the self-starters, but works great once it's going.
I've had one of these before, and I used it until the gyro shattered (no fault of the gyro, it was 20 years old, the plastic doesn't last forever). This one was squealed like a stuck pig as it spooled up, and was particularly hard to get started without the string. As it turns out, there was a bit too much friction between the nylon guide ring bushing and the shaft, and I couldn't put energy into it faster than it was bleeding off. A TINY bit of soft wax on the thick part of the shaft (NOT on the thin ends!) to reduce the spinning friction, and it starts beautifully with no more squealing. It's been a while since I've used one of these, and with this one working beautifully after the waxing, my arms are sore. I'm looking forward to regaining the walnut-crushing grip strength I had in years gone by.

Good product but there is a grinding noise
The product works - but when you get up to speed, there is a grinding noise like the wheel is rubbing. It's loud and intermittent.

There is a learning curve
my first 30 mins i felt like this product was a dud and no matter what I couldn’t get this thing to start. But after the hour mark i was able to get it started and keep it going and it WORKS.I have had carpal before and this week I could feel it flaring up so I ordered this gyro ball because i heard it’s more effective than the self start up ones. I can’t comment on this as this is my only gyroball but the workout this gives is INTENSE.I found the best tip to keep the ball going is having a very fast start with the string. You should already be feeling the centripetal force just from the start. Then you start making smooth slow circles until the force picks up. My biggest mistake was making fast wobbly circles as if i was flailing it around trying to get the speed up desperately but it’s the opposite. When it gets fast enough, let the ball move your hand and you guide it with smooth slow circles. 10/10

Good price
I like this model better because the pull string start works a lot better than the push wind that another ball has.
