The dual pack is wonderful but the light spread was too small for my application.

Q: Can the batteries in the remote be replaced?

Yes it uses a button battery CR2025. I find that button batteries last a long time. The base of the light is heavy & I laid the base face up on a high shelf & rotated the lights down at an angle towards a dark area in my closet. Then I use the remote to turn it on. I use the timer so I don’t forget to turn it off. It also has a manual button to turn on, if you can reach it.

Q: Is it 270 Lumens per head, or for the set of two heads?

I don't have a way to test the lumens however they give off ample accent lighting
