Bought on a whim; so glad I did.
Fascinating book that is about far more than just periods, really -- it shows how many things can branch out and be affected by how thoughtful society may be (or, in many cases, may not be) towards people who menstruate, and, ultimately, what that can actually mean for us as a whole. Definitely one of those books that I plan on grabbing a paperback of ASAP so that I can share it with friends and family.

Eye-opener!
What an eye opener this book was. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the Irishman got used to me making noises of angry astonishment at some of the facts presented in it. The loss of dignity for women - particularly homeless or incarcerated - was heartbreaking to read. It's not a situation that I've considered before in my comfortable little bubble. Now the fog has been lifted and I'm going to be investigating what public programs there are in Australia that I can get involved in. Thank you, Jennifer, for bringing this to my attention.

An educational and entertaining read
An educational and entertaining read, this book provides an essential overview of the evolution and scope of the period movement. As an observer and instigator of this red wave, I'm thrilled that such an intelligent and compassionate person from within the ranks took on the task of researching, organizing, and writing this work. It needed to be done and now it has been done so well!
