we have just built our own pole house and this book was my bible. it's such a beautiful and inspiring book, and in the planning stages for our house, i pretty much read through it nearly every day just to excite myself about our project and to glean more wonderful ideas. it was so handy to show our builders pictures of details i wanted to incorporate, and i've shown and lent it to many friends who also loved it. it's a wonderful book - a heart-warming read and fabulous pictures. highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a home with loving, hand-made detail.cheers

We love this book. The photos are amazing! There is so much inspiration in this book that one could spend hours reading through it and browsing the images.

I bought this when I was building my first house and it inspired me to think outside the box and be creative about finishing. A great book for wood working types, handy wood oriented types and those who want something different in their house but need some inspiration. Great book and good value.

you'll be provided with many innovative and unique and yet practical in function (can't say in form as these are one of a kind) - loved the book - it gave me many ideas and encouraged me to try myself... maybe you will too!~?!.

LOVE this book. It has given me many ideas for building my own home and the houses and details are wonderful. Tons of colourful photos. A must have for any person who is into natural building and looking for ideas for there own home!

Good pictures for ideas, which is part of what we wanted, we just wish this book had either limited 'schematic drawings or how-to information' to go along with the pictorials. We plan on getting books to supplement this one, AND finding the village elder or "Mr Miyagi", to help us as we try to "make what the pictures show". Again, not bad.

this is a great book with lots of ideas and imagination. you will want to crawl inside and live in this book. just wish there was more how to do it but well worth the money. anyone wanting to live an alternative lifestyle or build an amazing house with wood should have this book for inspiration and ideas.

I love Lloyd Kahn's books! Beautiful structures - lots of images to daydream about building your own. This book is a classic.
