It works and looks nice. Sits on an entry table. Wife loves hourglasses. This one is one of many. As you can see, it is a nice size. It gets turned occasionally. It is well built and could be used as a timer. We just use it for looks.

I get so many compliments on my “OZ” inspired hourglass! Not only does it look awesome on my desk, but it’s actually super helpful for staying on track. I use it to split my day into hour chunks, which makes it easier to juggle multiple tasks without getting sidetracked. Something about watching the sand flow keeps me focused and motivated. Way more fun (and effective) than just setting a timer on my phone.

The hourglass is very pretty, and I like it a lot, apart from one problem. The sand doesn't fit between the bulbs. The hole is smaller than the sand grains. Which makes it kind of useless as an hourglass. But it is nice as a comment on society.

The sand makes it a bit top heavy so when you flip it, it wants to flip back over, but its tight enough that it only tilts slightly rather than all the way. If you position it right it stays and its really not very difficult to do. It looks beautiful and feels well made and sturdy!
